lisbdnet.com is a huge site that using scraped PAA (People Also Ask) content.

The site was reportedly making $50,000 per month on ads.

This site has now been deindexed. Poof. Gone.
What were they doing?
  • Scraping millions of PAA (People Also Ask) questions and answers
  • Grouping them together into pages to rank. Posting the stolen content as-is.
  • Autogenerated pages and on-page
  • Embedding top 4 related YouTube videos per page.
  • Monetized 100% with ads.

Anyways, it's a fun tale about doing very black-hat things on a very large scale. Some SEOs make a very good living doing this type of thing.
We don't do things like this, but it's still good to know what people are getting away with and what can rank, even for a short time.
They probably made at least a couple hundred thousand dollars from this, and I'm guessing it did not cost much at all to do.

how can I know more about this PAA (People Also Ask) ??
 
if that was a churn & burn project they have probably made a nice ROI. Still too little monthly revenue for 5+ million visitors a month, though...

yea I think $10 cpm is a bit low but its fine if its auto post site right?

Looks like google is currently going through deindexing some big websites.
I looked a popular adult gif website too recently and poof (Deindexed)

it depends on the CTR and how well those clicks convert, and google traffic usually converts well which is why I think that $50k is too low for that amount of traffic
 
Well, this sucks, especially with a few journeys following these steps, myself included.

There are still a few websites like this out there, so there must have been something else to it.

Seems askinglot & friends are still doing fine still...

$10 RPM is/was actually high with that content, I'm surprised they passed the $5 mark with it
 
I've been keeping an eye on this site and a few others like these. The site is gone now but lets not help the G by posting domains.

However, when I noticed the site is gone, I checked few other sites like this and 2 medium size sites like this also got de-indexed this week. But, few other bigger sites are still up. There are not much difference between the sites that got de-indexed and the others still doing good.

I'm wondering why some are still live for over a year and some are de-indexed within a few months? They are all doing the same shit.

It depends I guess...

Around 2011 I had a MFA site in the "surround sound systems" niche that was doing pretty well in google (it's been my biggest Adsense earner at that time), and someone had contacted me out of the blue asking whether I'd accept placing their ads on my site for $150 a month (which meant about $7.5 CPM at that time as my site was getting 600-700 uniques a day) and I asked for $250 a month and they've said that if the traffic is good they'll give me $250 starting with month 2. I agreed and after 1 month they've Paypal'd me $250 for the next month's placement.

So, the traffic must have converted well because otherwise they wouldn't have paid me $250 a month for advertising on that microniche site full of Adsense ads... and this was with 100% plagiarized PLR content like I said. Too bad that this deal had only lasted for 4 months because shortly after google have started going after article directories and spun content and my site tanked. Good 'ol times when I was making $300 a month in Adsense with 10-page MFA sites with just a few backlinks from EZA... I so miss those times...

its insane how they manage to get this much traffic. I tried something similar myself but I don't get anywhere near as much traffic and definitely not anywhere near as fast as these guys do, there must be something else other than simply posts the PAA's in mass

Personal opinion, backlinks make the difference. What website was an expired domain, which I think helped them a great deal.
 
I don't know if it's Google penalty for sure. All their pages are resulting in 404 error.

Willing to bet my $3.5 we'll be seeing askinglot for at least a few more years.

The amount of backlinks they EARN each day is crazy. I mean legit earn, from clueless webmasters linking out for references.
