The trick is to use Google ads , set the max budget ,for example 50 k pounds , to get lower CPC,
and most important part : Promote it only to your members , that the way Google don't charge for the ads .
They show to others that you have to be a member to see that ads , but its enough to get attention and get subs .
Hope you get the idea.
You can get banned using this trick

May I ask you what do you mean about "Promote it only to your members " ? Just watched this video and still don't know how it work

You need a monetize Youtube channel with Join channel enabled to do this

This is missing guys you will need to fill the requirements before you even give this a shot!
 
You'll need atleast 30k subscribers to run this ad and 1000 subscribers if you have a gaming channel.

I am seeing lots of PubG and Valorant ads, even though I am not at all interested in them.

YouTube will patch this in couple of days
 
That just a glitch on youtube side.

soon solve it via charging even if members only is switched on.

very surprised beta testing didn't spot that mistake.
 
Yeah I hope YouTube starts charging for it, so that people who are acting smart will be fucked.

Stop with your moralism you are in a site where people speak about black hat SEO or journey in the movie streaming field etc.
Anyway I don't think that they can charge you, if people don't see your ads than is a YouTube problem.
