While Barry is good peoples, do not take everything he, or his staff, write as golden law.

SEO has always been a hassle. Nothing new there. You look at what people are doing and do something different. You also do a lot of experimenting. Much of Google is now positioned by Rank Brain, the Google AI for page ranking. Look into AI, it is based on statistics. Only a few AI machines do not use some variation of statistical determination.

do you mean the metrics of a domain but in a seo situation any links please?

Some blogger are dropping their and some of them boost it because of this Google Fred update...

I just somewhere that "when Google release these new algorithms and you see a drop in rankings you are being watched. I know a lot of you have mentioned my traffic has dropped , "What Can I Do?" The thing I learned a long time ago is, "Do Nothing." Why you ask? It's a tactic to see who will change what on their sites. The bots will pick this up when they recrawl. A long time ago people would get scared and start changing everything because Google knew the practices where not being followed by you. If you are following good practices then you have nothing to worry about. If you aren't then I guess you know the answer to that question. If you know you are not doing anything wrong you will return to your regular status eventually. Consider it Google Tax Time."

what do you guys think about this in regards to the update?
