What are you doing for back links now, are you doing it all yourself ?
If that is the case, then you need to ask yourself could you be earning more by doing something else yourself and outsourcing this to an seo service or freelancer.
If the answer to that is yes, then do it. Provided you have enough coming in to pay yourself and the seo a wage and you can upscale your stuff, then that is the way to go.

Well said. If you have enough budget to invest in SEO help, and if you think that's going to get you better returns, by all means go for it. At the end of the day it all comes down to what's the kind of return you expect and how much are you willing to spend to get there.

Well, if you think that you'd better put your skills in other spheres rather than learning something new (if so), investing time and effort -go for it. There are more chances you will reach your targets faster with someone professional and qualified. In any case, trust your instincts and do what YOU think is better)

I actually went through the exact same experience, where I found a real good niche and thought an SEO could do it for me. Good thing I was cheap enough to try it myself at the time, and save myself countless hours of time and money.
