Does anyone know the software that is used on the backend for Black Hat World? Is this PHPBB3?

I am wanting to build a membership site that is forum based. Can anyone recommend the best one to use? I like the layout of BHW with the nav on the side.

There are probally extensions for every major forum software around.

First decide if you want to use a paid or free forum service.
Then look at the differences.
