Hey Guys, I'm considering building affiliate website to sell and was wondering if there are any members who have successfully flipped sites before and if so what is the best advice you could give me.
i.e What type of clean backlinks gave you the best results etc, niches to focus etc

Also, Is there anyone here I can follow that does this?

Thanks

Plenty of people here who do that. Linkbuilding or overall off site SEO tactics do not matter.

All that matters is how much that site makes a month. By default, the price of domain is your monthly earnings average from the past 3 - 6 months multiplied by 33.

Even if the site has PBN links and all kind of crap on it, it doesn't reduce the multiplier by much. Maybe to x30. And yes, that was surprising to me as well.

And nobody ever will tell you niches to focus on. There's a fine line between advice and spoon feeding.

Thanks, yeah I'm not looking for niche answers, but all ears o_O Just been listening to empire flippers podcast/blog to get some ideas. You mention that off-site don't matter, surely that is essential to rank it? Don't get me wrong I'm not an outreach type of guy and hope that the content that will be created will attract passive links for me.:)

Linkbuilding is a prerequisite for the site to make money in the first place (mostly). Linkbuilding was not the initial question.

There are million dollar businesses built by BHW members just flipping websites.

Yeah, I'm looking to follow a few here. Needle in the haystack though, keeping my eyes open. Thanks

If you are looking to flip and make some money and not really grow a site here is what I would do. Add like 10-20 KGR informational articles just to get some organic traffic to the site and give it a nice mix of affiliate and non affiliate content. After that, add product review articles. Do not focus on best of articles because they are harder to rank. So instead of best basketballs, write a review article on Wilson Basketball Evolution. If there is a model # add that to the title also, like B0516R. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry what is KGR?

KGR is an approach by Doug Cunninham (if I recall) that tries to provide a calculation to help you find keywords that you can rank for quickly. Basically it's [search volume] / [number allintitle results] and you're looking for a result of 0.25 or below. I recall something about him recommending aiming for keywords with less than 260 searches a month to make sure you're able to rank for it quickly.
