I sold an asset on flippa, the buyer sent me an agreement to sign with a weird change in it:
    Original flippa agreement states:
6.1. The Buyer must pay the Purchase Price to the Seller as directed by the Seller, on Completion.
6.2. The Buyer must pay the Purchase Price to the Seller, as follows:

The agreement he sent me states:
6.1. The Buyer must pay the Purchase Price to the Buyer as directed by the Seller, on Completion.
6.2. The Buyer must pay the Purchase Price to the Buyer, as follows:

He already deposited money to flippa escrow. I will ask him to change the agreement. I hope he is not trying to scam me. The buyer is a new but registered 7 years ago and 0 transactions completed. Still, he deposited the money to the escrow.

Did anyone here have experience with this? How can I protect myself?
He set completion date on 15th September, what if I'm late with delivery and he disputes for that reason, will flippa escrow be on my side?

I want to prepare for all scenarios here, hope you guys have some advice.

Well if he deliberately went out of his way to change the agreement, I'd say it's a scam.

It wouldn't be a scam if you are fine with the agreement. :D

This is what I answered to him:

"There is a big problem in the contract you sent to me. On clause 6.1 and 6.2 you basically set that you pay to yourself. I can't sign that agreement. It's a big scam alert for me.
Also, there is an incorrect letter order on 12.4 and 13.3. Please change this during the next 24 hours, if you don't I'm out of this. Also please change the completion date to 16 September and set assistance period to 10 days."

I'm still not sure should I deal with him even if he changes it, can I count on flippa support if it gets to dispute?

I would just skip the deal, he got more cards in hand im sure of it. A scammer wont pull one trick on you. Several. At a time.

Very wise of you to read the contract.

The first impression is he's trying to scam you and get your site for free, by getting you to agree to pay the buyer.

Keep copies of all communications with him though.

All communication goes through flippa, still, I don't like the way he sending me an agreement using dropbox links I can't index them on Wayback machine as evidence.

Here is what he answered to me after my last message:
"I didn’t change that clause. It doesn’t sound correct to me either. I will correct it. Thanks for catching it.
Also I am not an scam and I don’t appreciate you saying that. If you want you can do prepare the contract and add my info and send it to me for signing it. If you want me do fix those clauses and send it to you to sign, I will still do it in a few hours. Please read it carefully and let me know if there are any other issues. I used the Flippa sample, you can compare it with that."

    My answer to that:
"That's the problem, I compared it with the original flippa agreement and the only significant change is 6.1 and 6.2 where is stated that the buyer will pay to the buyer.
You said, "I didn't change that clause." it's impossible because I compared it with flippa original.
Don't get offended but this seems fishy to me, you can prepare a new agreement and I will make my final decision after that."

    He answered again:
In that case I have made an error in that clause. I will check with the original I have downloaded from the Flippa when I got home. Can you fix those clauses and add your address and send it to me? Or would you like me to do it. I sometimes confuse the words Buyer and Seller as I was tried while working on that. Thanks,

Skip the deal and relist the site, or sell on Empire Flippers where you'll never get scammed.

Most likely a scam. If I were you, tbh I'd avoid him rather than having a history with a toxic person like him.

It seems he didn't change anything ... Just download "Template Sale Agreement.docx" from here https://support.flippa.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000974896-Sales-Agreement-Contract-of-Sale and you will see there are following details by default:
⦁ The Buyer must pay the Purchase Price to the Buyer as directed by the Seller, on Completion.
⦁ The Buyer must pay the Purchase Price to the Buyer, as follows:
