I want to deindex a blogspot post, but I'm wondering how viable it is through filing a DMCA claim. Has anyone had luck recently copying a page, reposting it elsewhere, then filing a DMCA copyright claim?

How about filing a claim if they're discussing a private person by name and under the guise.

What kind of content is it?

I'm really having a hard time understanding the rest of your post. Can you explain a little?

It's for a client's business. There's a blog post claiming they are a "scam", but it's a legitimate salaried position for $500 a week, and the post starts mentioning the receptionist by name and criticizing her attire, despite it being business casual (as per dress code). In the comments people begin to facebook stalk her, so it becomes fairly creepy.

I've been out of the BHW loop for awhile and my last resort to have the page deindexed is to reply to the blog post with a quick comment followed by a smiley face emote hosted on my webspace so I can change it to a hardcore porn image a week or two later.

So basically, I'm just wondering how effective DMCA take downs are when the defamation isn't necessarily terrible, but yet hurts a private individual?

Or if DMCA claims are still working when someone copies a webpage, rehosts it, then files a claim against the original site?

I have a client in the same boat. My guy actually went as far as going into court to try to get Google to remove the blogspot post, but had no luck. This guy has money and is pretty intelligent, but he had a lot of trouble.

So here's what I do.

I SEO every other result on the page to move them up, except that listing which I want to move down. It's taken 4 months to get the damned thing from #4 to the 3rd page, but it's slowly moving.

It's been a pain in the ass, but it's working. As for adding a comment then changing it to porn, I haven't done that but keep in mind that a comment will make that post/blog fresh which may rank it UP further. My guy did the same thing (without the porn) and made a few comments explaining to anybody reading the post that it was false info, and I think he made it rank higher by doing that.
