Fancy Homepage or Long Article? What ranks better?

I'm currently designing a homepage and wondering which would rank better.

My website has a silo structure, which points all link juice to the home page.
In the near future I am going to have 2000+ word articles I am going to be ranking for, these articles are going to be pointing to the homepage. The keywords on the homepage are going to have h1 tags since my theme allows me to do so.

Example (Example keywords):
In the beginning it's going to say "We've Got the Best Supplements on the Market!"

And I'm going to have blocks with descriptions and keywords as h1. Stuff like "Weight loss" Muscle building" etc.

Google will see the keywords "Best Supplements" "Weight loss" "Muscle building" but it looks natural.

Keywords Ranking for (Again, just example keywords): best weight loss supplements, best weight loss supplements

Would this be more ideal than having a 2000+ word article as a homepage?

I'm a fan of a large amount of content on the root page seasoned lightly with some of the KWs for the site.

First impression is, it doesn't look like a shopping website, which may get an instant bounce from some searchers.

However if you are planning on making it a showcase / review website, then you also shouldn't have the title "We have the best supplements on the market", mixed messages.

Please focus on your content quality not the long articles and not the homepage look, but you may create a user friendly landing page with easy to read fount style and color scheme.

On my actual site I was going to put "Welcome to (Site name has one word of my keyword), blah blah blah."
Something on that line, still tryna play around with the wording.

Oh, I forgot to mention I was planning on ranking my main keywords using pillar articles for each silo because my main-main keyword is very hard to write an article for, it's possible but there's many factors that come into play which may lead to visitors leaving the site.

I'm putting the blocks to help visitors find what their looking for.
I was thinking of having blocks with:
- Reviews
- Brands
- Types
- For Women
- For Men
- For Kids (Might consolidate men, women, and kids to: "For Who?"

But the thing I'm wondering now, is the link juice my pillar articles pass to my homepage going to help rank the homepage?

i prefer the large content page, cuz the content is the key to the onpage seo. if u use the fancy one, u may have the strong backlinks. and long age domain.

I also prefer large amount of content, but please do not overdo with the size of the headlines. Some of the websites on forums that I have reviewed have such big headlines, which created bad impression. I mean no respectful websites make such enormous headlines.
Your website page looks good, but a little more content would not hurt. (I do not see what is below on the screenshot) IMO

both kind of homepage works, it just depends on user interactivity and low bounce rate. Go for a design which lower bounce rate and it will rank higher. Sometimes if a page has no content its long tail ranking may suffer but if it has low bounce rate its main keyword ranking will be favorably affected.

content always rank better as compared to fancy pages.

For a brandable site, it makes sense to have a fancy homepage that links out to various categories.
