Faking the referrer with Commission Junction. Quick 5 bucks for an answer.

I refer people to cj from my twitter account. I have checked with cj because I did not know if I should list my twitter account or the short link service I am using (bit.ly) to get my PID - god knows 200+ links do not work there!

They told me to register my twitter account and I have received commissions using my shortened links from there. As long as they can find the shortened link on my twitter account!

Set yourself up a twitter account (Bonus - you will get a backlink to your site as well!) and you can add your links legit from there, and use them on your site - being only one twitter account, it would be easy to list any offer you have that might come up!

That is an interesting idea. I will look into that for sure. Do you use URL shrinking services like tinyURL for this. So... I am taking it that your referrer would be the shortened URL and that you would not have to tell them about your twitter account unless they asked (or you tell them beforehand to be safe)?

Not to hijack the thread, but I posted a thread a few days ago about using Prosper202 with CJ.

This would work for you as long as it is allowed. Does anyone have experience using the Tracking202 system and Commission Junction?

No use your twitter account with cj to get your PID! Use bit.ly as your shorten service but do sign up with bit.ly as they give you some excellent data on where your traffic is coming from! Just make sure that whatever bit.ly link you are going to use on your web page is in your tweets first.

Another key to note is that people knock the social thing but it has been announced this week that most search engines will be starting to index tweets! (Use key words in your tweets) So it may not be a bad idea to use it. (and I have sold a few computers on there too.)

I check back often so Ill look for your thought! :) To answer Twitter will be the refer then you can use the link wherever you want! ...Just make sure you have it on Twitter before anywhere else!
