[Failure] Authority Websites

hello BHWer , i have a question for you, question is at the end actually

i have been reading so much about authority website which has these qualities(correct me if im wrong):


1.500+ articles added with 2 to 4 article per day pace

2.checking site with woorank and fill the gap which is missing, here most important thing is try best to keep your site speed high as far as you can.

3.building links slowly(not exactly) - here i want to know your personal speed of building links (if you did trail n error thing) for your long term authority sites

4.learn from these people's thread in BHW=> rabbitking, the seo, tommy, Napster(they are in my mind always) and ofcourse my new friend Zwielicht(i don't know he thinks so or not), learn how they suggest to build the most important content thing for your websites,i just love their guides especially the one rabbitking has made..and yeah BTB(he should be called "The authority" coz he replied in one thread that he has 36 authority websites, he should be knowing so much)

5.On-page optimization tutorial from Napster (great one)

6.promote products or create your own products that can be sold on your site + wait 6 months to add adsense to your website, thats cool.

7.Most Important : Write for people and not for search engines => mantra of every successful Business man(in this case IMer) and I'm also aware of that.

8.keep adding articles at regular intervals so that it doesn't look an orphan in the eyes of google and thats logical.

Please note that i'm not doing any keyword research coz authority site is something which requires knowledge and that knowledge you can easily get into mind and i will look at competitors keyword but i will not be able to remove competition completely(no one) and i will concentrate on whether my website is completely optimized for the people or not and again doing some on-page seo(not hard at all) and link building(the seo has a good guide on this) to get improvement in serps (but im very unsure about whether i will get ranks on my will).

okay, so they are the important things.

Now the question is can a person Fail completely(it will not affect my decision to create an authority site) even in the case of making authority sites and i know that enough money is there to take care of a typical 4 member indian family, i just want to know have you ever been into a situation where you feel like Google just refused to rank you in their (in some way) website for certain niche that you are trying to rank for even after you did all these things?

Content is more important than all this other stuff.

With 2-4 articles a day, chances are your quality will be crap and will never rank in a million years.
Try posting one fantastic article once a week and build links to it, promote it, get comments on it, and make it readable and helpful.

You'll get 10x as much traffic than with the method you mentioned.

Also, have a product or service to sell. Affiliate sites, Adsense sites, etc rarely get anywhere.

Dude do some keyword research. Authority website or not, keyword research is important for any website looking to rank in the SERPS. It lays the foundation for the site to sit on. Without it, your website crumbles. IMHO.

Im sorry, but you failed the second you decided to not do keyword research.

This isn't true for a number of reasons, please don't tell the OP things like this... Firstly, last year I had a full time salary from AdSense before Penguin, more than an office worker and I literally didn't have to do ANYTHING but sit on my ass and get out of bed whenever I want. Didn't even have to touch my sites but I did anyway because I'm obsessed with optimizing ad placement, could easily have spent every day laying around in pyjamas eating Ben & Jerry's and getting paid for it. Now if it wasn't for the shit "services" I used to rank the site I'd still be collecting $$$. Fortunately, I have a new site in the same niche and am doing the backlinking myself and now I'm nearly back to a full time salary again.

And you definitely DON'T need a product or service. How many people here do you think actually have physical products to sell? Lol... There are countless authority news sites making millions from AdSense and even authority sites making mega cash by selling affiliate products (e.g. ShopStyle) or linking to products from reviews.

Do some keyword research. It is the important thing to rank mate

By the way he is not Jr Vip. He is a donor for a donor no need to post 100 posts or no matters how old your membership in bhw. If you pay $90 to BHW. You can be a donor in BHW...

Please someone tell him what types of authority websites are left if it is not coming under adsense and affiliates sites for newbies, he himself a newbie, I said thanks coz he replied when no one replied.

Keyword research is the most powerful term for an site. Your site have authority but do not think only you have this. SO if you want to compete with contester you have do niche keyword research. I think you should give time on keyword research.
