1and1 billing will refund the money if you just let them know they made an error... that being said, gregstereo has it right.. they do suck.

Funny how some people are suggesting godaddy when their domains are more expensive at $11.99/year... it's like $10.10 for renewing, but still that's more than $8.99. namecheap is around $9.29 or something...

still searching for a great registrar as I have thousands of domains... anyone know of one with free privacy, unlimited DNS options and email? would help.

Have you tried Netfirms? Use promo495 for discounted price plus FREE WHOIS privacy. :D BTW the coupons will only work per transaction. And i think its has a limit. I think 5 domain.

1&1 registered domains and sent invoice. The amount was correct 4.99 per domain

I ordered three too but I was lucky cause they had me waiting for so long before the domains were even created I canceled the bill on paypal. So they can't charge me. Now apparently they made the domains but I canceled my bill so I don't want them no more :D

I did the same thing, and then a few weeks later I received an invoice via physical mail saying if I didn't pay my outstanding balance they would forward it to a collection agency :/

Ignore it. They did the same to me. I told them go fuck themselves and I never heard from them again.

I have registered several dozen domains for .COM, .NET, .ORG and only .ORG domains were discounted - com and nets were charged in full. They said if i order through control panel then discounts do not get counted. They refunded the difference to me.

Why they are not good?

Also when i transferred domain to someone else, i had received all emails except one final where i had to click link to finally release domain. If i would not click then domain would get released after 5 days. This is 1st reason why they are not good.

In control panel you cannot select all domains and DNS them all together, you have to do this one by one. This is second reason.

In control panel where you cancel domains, if you have like 100 of them, you have to click "Next" every screen to get to the specific domain. You cannot search there. This is third reason.

Hi,
I have bunch of domains and hosting at 1&1 and my clients too.
In 4 years, I (we) never had any problem w/ them.

vYk

1&1 are the worst I've ever used.

Most none standard Cpanel - bloody expensive - invoice trickery - and for a wordpress user like myself they don't have an auto install option.

The servers are not even that fast for all the extra cost.

Shit

Scritty

Try netfirms. I have a couple domains with them and they are solid.

I was charged $19 something for six domains..it was suppose to be less than that. I could have sworn the morons charged me, but then I received an letter that they would threaten to put it into collections...Don't ever try to register name servers there. It will be the biggest damn headache ever. It's been a week and it's still screwed up. I asked my VPS host what the issue was, and it pointed back to these morons who told me everything was fine. Seriously stay far away, awful customer support, and they do not know a damn thing.

I'm glad I never went for the deal, I knew something shit like that would happen. 1and1 sucks and this just proves it

Here's an update for you guys!

So, I purchased a total of 8 domains for 4.99 each and they created an invoice saying that I owe $8.99 for each domain. I emailed them and they said that they will charge me 8.99 for each domain and credit half of that amount to my credit card after getting over-charged!

I didn't want to do that, so, I asked my bank to deny the transaction. As a result, they locked my account and I lost all my domains! They wouldn't even give me the auth codes so that I can transfer them....

1AND1 is full of shit, don't even think about purchasing your domains their!

Same here. I actually did get contacted by the debt collection agency. Told them what happened and that I would not be paying so they might as well give up. Never heard from them again.

Just google "1&1 paypal agreement" and check for more people getting scammed by 1&1.

yer fuck 1&1 i moved since i did this with them so best of luck to them.

I had a few issues with 1&1, although I always got my sale domains as advertised (they used to $.99 .infos and $4.99 .coms pretty much anytime you want which is why I bought - just transfer before the year is up to someone else who charges a normal rate or they'll be $8.99).

I can say when I stopped using them is when my problems arose. I closed my account and all and left a batch of domains, maybe 15-20 or so, that I don't use anymore there to expire - not going to bother transfering out a domain for a couple of months (ever tried to transfer a domain with 1&1? It takes like 3 fucking hours to get all their confirmation e-mails and click the links) so I figured I'd just leave them and let them expire. After quite a long time I get notice from collections that these were all auto renewed even though I have no access to them and instead of billing me (probably can't since I closed my account) they just let them all re register and then let some months pass and sold my debt to a collections agency. That's plain evil.

1 and 1 have a real problem with one hand not knowing what the other hand is doing. I had used them for my hosting and domain purchases for a few years and have had many problems with their billing department. Try Calling 1-877-300-8316 Tell them you need to talk with a superviser and tell them what happened. make sure you have a copy of your bill and the date you made the purchase and they will give you a refund. I have gotten a refund everytime I have had a problem, which is at least 5 times. I figure as long as they solve the problem then I'm happy as I have gotten 10 domains for what GoDaddy would have charfed for 5 or 6. I am a firm beliver in saving money.
Hope this helps. Another nuber to reach them is 1-866-991-2631:cool:

For my domains, I've been using name - their price is all right but I've had no problem with them so far. I never did like 1and1, they always seemed a bit off to me.
