Facebook Sues Maxbounty...Wow!!

incorrect my friend they will just hire someone in canada to serve them. Craigslust served someone in UK
This is to warn all facebook spammers to atleast be careful. But I don't think Facebook will go over wherever MB is located and come to their office with a lawyer with 500,000 copies of lawsuits. Just plain BS and a joke

Guess who is that CTO and what company he use(d?) to work for?

"It has come to our attention that Facebook has named MaxBounty in a lawsuit. The complaint alleges that certain MaxBounty affiliates have caused Facebook users to "spam" their friends, use Facebook trademarks, and post deceptive offers.

We take these claims seriously. As you know, MaxBounty does not control the content of its affiliates' websites, the style of affiliate campaigns, or where affiliate web pages are hosted. MaxBounty merely acts as a traffic broker and statistical tracking system between affiliates and advertisers. MaxBounty has not "spammed" anyone on Facebook.

Facebook's allegations in the complaint are inaccurate. Regardless, we have every intention of cooperating with Facebook, to the extent possible, to ensure that all applicable laws and Facebook rules and are complied with. MaxBounty has a reputation of not allowing spam or deceptive advertising practices by its affiliates on social websites. In the past, we have removed affiliates from our network who had engaged in such unacceptable campaigns.

We expect this matter will be resolved promptly, amicably, and without any disruption to MaxBounty's business for advertisers or affiliates.

Its a part of their (Facebook's) business plan.

Till now they have won $1.5 Billion in law suits for spamming, which is a record.

Step 1. They let spammers spam the *F**K* out of facebook, making user's lives miserable.
Step 2. Gather evidence against big aff. companies involved.
Step 3. Sue them and make millions.

In the end, the who lost what

PPL get spammed, Affiliate networks lose money, advertizers get troubled.

Facebook makes $$$$$$. If facebook stopped them right in the beginning, which they are very much capable of, they would not be spammed and would never make extra $$$$$$

How exactly is facebook making money spammers, yes they have won alot in court, but i am pretty sure they paid their lawyers more then the total $0 they have collected so far. If you really think this is how facebook makes their money, you need to shut your computer off.

in teh overall scheme of things...170k is not alot of money to fb so they are most likely trying to make an example outta these people in an attempt to deter other marketers...(i dont think it will work...but it will be a headache for those being sued)

lol, Facebook is only claiming damages of $5,000.

I'm no lawyer (and thus have no idea what im talking about), but I think that amount just has to do with the minimum requrements for large claims court. If the judgment is found in favour of fb, the actual amount awarded will be determined in court.

facebook owners are bunch of greedy bastards ...they exploit even more all that private data...****in morons

i wonder if MB can just tell FB to eat a dick cuz they are in another country...I know i would
Not sure why people think that being in another country automatically protects people against being charged with spam and other things. It doesn't.

I say let Facebook keep doing this shit. they are alreadybecoming more and more hated by doing nothing. If they keep this up, they are going to be he most hated website on the net, if they aren't already. I say to Facebook - "You go assholes!"

They keep putting out this BS that they are going to make it so Facebook is just a place for people who KNOW each other to converse. When will they get that they will never be able to keep internet marketers from taking advantage of them?

I just got an email from adscend saying they are doing an internal investigation of social media traffic to make sure it complies with social networks tos and rule. All the CPA networks are scared.

yeah shit is about to get tighter than a drum in this bitch...dudes better start learning another method other than fb

you might want to read what facebook are suing them for. Maxbounty was actively telling the affiliates to spam facebook and also offering incentives to do it.

Not exactly. I work with Maxbounty directly, and am quite capable of setting up some fan pages, applications, etc... I was never contacted, asked, or encouraged to conduct these activities. However, MB likely knew roughly what some of their affiliates were doing, and maintained a status of ignorance.

That's not quite the same thing. FB will not likely win this particular lawsuit, and if they do, it won't bankrupt MB. Worst case scenario is a new MB arises with better safety/protection measures - kind of like what they did when everyone found out what the Zangocash was all about. I think they're Vomba now. No worse for the wear.

I think this is sign of the beginning of the end of social network marketing.
Facebook could easily lobby for new regularization AKA Can-spam to moderate it.
I doubt this trend will still be viable for more time.
