Facebook Ideas

Hello all.

I was wondering if any of you can help me as I am at a loose end!!

Where I live (Spain) there is a Facebook Group (Not Fan page) dedicated to selling peoples second hand things. It is is really popular with over 5000 people in the group. The problem is that Facebook groups are not set up for these kind of activities. Because so many people are advertising their things the ads shoot straight down the page and unless you completely search the group you will miss things. The people that own the group have not monetized in in anyway!

OK I saw this opportunity and set up a local classified website (with WordPress using the Classipress theme) but I could not get the people across from Facebook to the website even though it was so much better and user friendly. This was free to place your ads and only a Featured Ad would cost 5 Euros.

So what I am asking is, do any of you Black Hatters know how I could set up something inside of Facebook that would be better for selling things and how it could be monetized. Remember as this is local most people will be paying in cash when they pick up the items for sale.

Any help, thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

Groups are not monetizable & not viral.
Make Fan page Facebook with Ads if you want.

If it is a strong localized group consider offline advertising, think flyers, newspaper adverts, sponsorships of some sort. It takes time to build up something like a classifieds website.
