Hello, I'm wondering how to decrease CPC? Facebook suggested use more placements but in my opinion its better to stay with Facebook home feed.
Whats your opinion?

Facebook does often recommend expanding placements to give the algorithm more opportunities to optimize, but it's not always a good solution – especially if you already have data showing that the Facebook News Feed is the most effective placement for your campaign.

Facebook is right to suggest using more placements because algorithmically, this gives Facebook more room to serve ads, which in turn:
Reduces bidding competition in a particular placement
Increases visibility
Reduces average cost (CPC/CPM)
However, that doesn’t mean it’s always true in every case. If you know for a fact that the Facebook News Feed is the placement that delivers the best quality of customers (users who engage and take the desired action after clicking), then there’s a good reason to keep it there.

To reduce CPC (Cost per Click) when running Facebook ads, you need to optimize content, audience, budget setting and ad format.

To reduce CPC, start with multiple placements, then analyze performance and focus your budget on low-CPC but high-quality placements, like Facebook Feed.

Use multiple placements, high-CTR creatives, and warm audiences. Video ads often lower CPC. Start broad, analyze results, then scale winners. Avoid narrow targeting and weak copy—it drives cost up fast.

Here’s how I personally approach lowering CPC on Facebook, based on my own experience:

  • Try multiple placements: Although the Facebook home feed usually brings good results, I’ve found that adding placements like Instagram Stories or Reels can really help lower CPC since the competition is cheaper there.
  • Focus on creative quality: From what I’ve seen, better visuals and more engaging copy tend to improve ad relevance, which directly reduces costs.
  • Refine your targeting: I always make sure to target only the most relevant audience or retarget users who’ve already shown interest — it’s a great way to get cheaper and more effective clicks.
  • Keep testing: I regularly A/B test different creatives and headlines. It takes time, but it’s helped me discover what really resonates and performs best.

Test multiple placements first then cut what underperforms FB feed is solid but broader placements help train algo faster and lower CPM Better creative CTR and warm audience also reduce CPC

More placements can lower CPC by increasing reach, but quality may drop. If your best results come from Facebook feed, test both and optimize based on performance.

FB feed is solid but test broad placements first Algo finds cheaper clicks in Stories Reels etc Then cut what bleeds CPC Let data lead not opinion

For CPC optimization, the first thing you need to focus on is optimizing the content, the customer touch points of the content. If you use video advertising, prepare a good Thumpnail image, use keywords that hit the user's psychology.

Generally speaking, respecting the platform's algorithm will help optimize costs
