Facebook group development ?

Don’t just chase a high number of members. A group of 3,000 people who engage with one another regularly can be more valuable than a group of 10,000 with little to no interaction.
It's true that a vibrant and high-quality community delivers exceptional value; our goal is to maintain a high engagement rate while ensuring continuous growth.

In the early stages, when the group is small and few people spontaneously comment, what methods do you usually use to "trigger" initial discussions?
with your question, i fake some activity until it becomes real, like use 3-4 aged alt pro5 on clean 4G proxies to start debates under my own posts; ask simple binary question, run quick polls... where people naturally want to argue in the comments. once real members see 5-10 comments on a post --> organic comment start rolling in

To SEO Executive's question about moderation load: a lot of it can be automated with the built-in admin tools before you need human mods. Require admin approval for posts from brand-new members, set keyword filters for the spam patterns your niche attracts, and use entry questions so low-intent joins filter themselves out. That keeps the wall clean while the group is small, and you can loosen the rules once regulars start answering each other - which is the point several people here made about activity beating size. Wingchuntaiwan's entry-question email capture fits the same idea: the intake step is where group quality gets decided.

Getting to 10K members is one thing, keeping the group active is another. I'd focus on a clear niche, regular discussions, and strong moderation rather than chasing member numbers alone.

getting to 10k members is one thing, keeping them active is a whole different challenge. i'd focus on getting the first few hundred members genuinely involved before worrying about big numbers. a group where people regularly ask questions and help each other can grow a lot more naturally than one where only the admin keeps posting.
What types of topics or questions do you typically use to encourage them to proactively ask questions and help each other

It sounds gud on paper having 10k member but i would see how many people actualy reply without being reminded to lol, a smaller crowd will bring in more traffic for sure.
In your opinion, what percentage of members should proactively post/comment weekly to be considered acceptable

Naturally, this process takes about a month, but it requires a well structured plan everything from what to post and the frequency of posts to the specific topics must be clearly mapped out. Are you using this as a personal page, or are you looking to monetize it through views?
My main goal in building the Group is to build a pool of potential customers and optimize conversions/monetization.

Building a large community takes time, consistency, and genuine effort. Regular discussions and engaging topics can help keep members active and interested.
