Has anyone else noticed that Facebook is starting to look like a Ghost Town much like Myspace did when everyone just stopped logging in, posting, updating and using it? If Facebook is dead which Social Media is the New King? Where should everyone be redirecting their efforts for Business Pages in Social Media in 2022?

I think the main problem is that FB changed their algorithm a few years ago to seeing "what friends posted" to what businesses/pages post. So it is not a "social network" anymore. Its a pure advertising network. At this point, why would someone even have friends on Facebook? FB prefers to show you random cat/fighting videos over what your friends posted.

This is also why I think many people who signed up before they changed their algorithm, already left the platform.

but

I don't think they will die out like Myspace did, because they are way too powerful. Facebook is not just Facebook. It is Whatsapp, Oculus and Instagram as well. And soon also Metaverse.

Facebook will never die, it is part of our lives now.

Do you have any data regarding this, I can't find any?
What you are saying is anicdotal.

"what friends posted" to what businesses/pages post
They did the opposite of this. I used to enjoy 60-70% reach on pages in 2012-13. They kept dropping the organic reach till the reach came down to 1-2%. So businesses had to run ads to even reach people who already follow their page.

Lol nah, it's the HQ of Africans, Karen's and all, it's mostly older people like what would you call as boomer

What I mean is: They changed the algorithm of the timeline. Before you would only see what your friends posted. A real timeline of your friends statuses. Also of the pages you liked. Now its an advertising platform. Its not a social network anymore.

Btw. it is the exact same route Google is going. Minimize organic traffic and maximize paid traffic.

Facebook is starting to look like a Ghost Town
People keep saying that but their number of users keep on increasing... Maybe you're from UK/US or other first world country, but FB is huge worldwide.

Who the hell use facebook technology these days???

I never use fb or WhatsApp or all this stuff. They send those messages to german police anyways, so you have to be very carefully about what you write.

I only use Telegramm privatly and for business. I

Instagram is for girls (or guys without a pornhub premium account) and oculus was never a mega hype.

Statistics are lookung good but thats also a lot of bottung on this Plattforms (probably 80%?). I rember like 8 years ago it was full of crap (cam girls etc.)

There's a good reason why Facebook invest a lot in virtual reality and Metaverse.

The number of users is still growing yes in some countries where Facebook came late but in the first 30 counties the daily insights are not so good.
The age of people also, older they become so the algo change and that's normal.

Metaverse, virtual reality, play to earn will be what will bring again young people to Meta / Facebook. Meta is here to stay it is a billion dollar and data battle and Meta got everything needed to accomplish it.

Аlgoritms have changed so maybe your feed looks like "ghost town" now. If you dig a little bit down - you'll see thats all right.
I agree with guys that Facebook become a part of a life of most peоple on the Earth through the years, so it cant die like Myspace

Facebook will never die they just change the algorithm and soon people will catch up again when they totally understand the new updates that there is a reason of all of it.

FB is the trend. they won't fail simply because it's so huge

It's dying out, but not exactly how Myspace died out. How old are you? FB is a platform for the older generations now mostly. It's still the goto platform for people over 40, maybe over 30. Young people either switched to something else or the youngest never registered and started out with something else from the get go. FB might be dying out in a decade or two, but we are not there yet.

New king? Instagram obviously, but it's not new at all. Tiktok too.

Seems Twitter is mainly used for all the Crypto related stuff which is nice chunk of the pie these past few years in terms of engagement.

Myspace died because there was a better alternative
fb will die only if people found a better to website witch i don't see there is one for now

Don't fall for the trap of individual perspective. Use data to see what's up.

Lots of people forget or do not understand that your own experience does not necessarily translate into factual information about the whole context.
