Facebook are about to start charging for messages sent to celebraties, they have said the testing in the USA went well so now they will be introducing this to the UK. Surely this had its issues in the USA and if you have seen this already i really want to know what you thought about it.

My opinion is that Facebook obviously need the money and if they think this is the best way to go about it, they're mad. I can't see this working in the UK and if it does i will eat my Mac!

I am really interested to find out what your thoughts are on this topic if you're from the states.

lol 10Euro to send msg to celebraties. I think fb is becoming made

I thought Facebook had an endless pool of resources.

But this will redeuce spam ;) , But if it had a commison base for celebrities it would be fun for those who manage there page ;)

i think it is time for a new social service to emerge ( in my area every one in mad for fb )

i will be happy to migrate.

fb was good but now it has started shaving people , but fb is the best service it is not easy to take it out .

if i made a shit load of money from im , i will use 99% of it to make new social service
( but i will be never be able to make soo much money;) )

They've jumped the shark.

I guarantee there are either factions within facebook, or from other networks, that are building something new.

I applaud whoever decided to ruin FB. I do not believe the way it's developed was result of real, sustainable planning. I think they got intentionally ruined from the inside out, considering everything from their in-site changes to the IPO to ads being a joke, or am I underestimating the potential stupidity of a company?

I heard this on the radio a while ago and thought it was bullshit and never read anything about it until today. Facebook is become very money hungry, seriously, $10 to send a message to celebrities which they won't even respond to. I bet Facebook gives the celebrities a % of the $10 for every message they receive just to promote this scheme/fail idea.

In my time doing internet marketing I have learnt that people will buy almost anything.

It won't surprise me if a fuck ton of people do this.

It's nice to see that there are clearly some blackhatters working at facebook :)

on 1st april they were charging for my own Profile too. They asked for Rs. 325 for one message.

Luckily enough I don't send messages to celebraties all that often

Bonkers! But I bet tons of people will pay for it, never underestimate the insanity of celebrity-obsessed-facebookers.

actually I find it interesting because a year ago I had the same idea, (it is still in my concepts of my phone.)
to pay per message to celebs only my thought was that it would work better on twitter.

my idea was a little different like celebs have agree to get message and to reply to them.
And they can choose to cash out the money or give it to charity (positive publicity):p

I think this will work and facebook is going to bank on it.
Just think about how much people worship these celebs, they try to look like them talk like them etc.

This is to reduce spam and you have the option to pay only if the individual is not friends with you. Also, it will not end up in the "other" box. It is guaranteed to end up in their inbox

Who cares, are you gonna message Kardashians? What, you really wanna know who was Kim's first dick? Who cares....Facebook is not gonna lose anything with this, there are people who are interested in celebs and they don't care if they have to pay $10. God idea, they are monetizing their site, nothing outrageous here.
