Facebook advertising - Worth it ????

I have just submitted my first campaign to facebook, awaiting approval, it is a cpa free trial offer, so far my landing page has been very succesful so lets see what happens, will keep you updated.

Any update on this? I am really curious, I have been debating getting into FB ads.

cpa is good for facebook.. try making events i have had success with those over pages and groups

Facebook can be very lucrative if you know how to use it. The trouble is that most people don't know how to use it effectively. If it works on Adwords, it might work with Facebook.

Simply, fb and adwords are different. What works on Adwords don't work on fb.
FB Ads are lucrative in very few niches. For others, you need pages and groups, not ads.

Early on I had a small degree of success using FaceBook Ads promoting a dating CPA offer. Kinda depends on the niche you're promoting. I suggest using a tool like QuantCast to research demographics instead of using a scattershot approach.

any updates on fb cpm? i did hear a few people talk about it saying that cpm isn't as expensive as cpc, and you do get a few more conversions for cheaper than themoney you would spend for cpc

Facebook is totally different to Adwords. Remember people on Facebook are not searching for things. You are targeting people's "likes". Therefore you need to warm them up to your offer. It's tricky but it can work.

I hope someone from FB has found this thread and will pull their head out of their butt...they're losing tons of revenue b/c they can't get their act together!

If you need the traffic... go for it. If you are looking for some testing, no.

Facebook ads convert really well internally, meaning if you're trying to get more traffic to your Facebook Fan Page-- from there you need to transfer them to your money site. CPA offers convert ok, but Facebook is catching on to this very quickly and raising the "minimum bid suggestion" to the point where it's tough to make your money back on affiliate commission/ lead gen.

For example, I made $5 profit yesterday generating 19 leads on a CPA offer. FB then basically killed my ad by raising the suggested click range to $2.50, essentially meaning that it wouldn't run at the .80 per click at which I had initially been successful earlier in the day.

I have also tested bidding $.10/ click, and Facebook won't show those at all. The margin is getting slimmer-- get the money out while you can!

So what are the better and cheaper alternatives to advertise on the internet?

Bing is still a pretty good deal, and they still allow affiliate links.

Just because no one seems to be able to create decent campaigns, TEST them, and OPTIMIZE them for profit doesn't mean it's not worth it. It IS worth it. Just ask people who have daily ad spends of 10k plus if they're making a profit or just spending that for shits and giggles.

You will barely find any semi-experienced ppc marketers here on BHW.

Go for it if you know what you're doing or at least willing to learn. Be ready to lose money in the beginning.

Someone actually gave me - rep for this post? Really?

Just goes to show how much people actually know ;)

Dont be st*pid guys... Facebook advertising its much better than adwords. Trust me really... Of corse that you need to know how to setup a good campaign and not only put the ad on. First try using cpc campaign and filter by the persons you want. Like you have a host company, you can try a cpc as 0,25 or 0,3 and then filter for interests as amen, hostfoweb, digitalpoint, warrior...The ad wil only appears to the persons that like that things. Its perfect guys...
