    I'm planning to try advertising on facebook for a CPA offer. Has anyone tried before and had success with it? I did some research and found that the CTR is very low compared to Adwords.

    Any help is appreciated.

    People are having huge success with it, its all about how well your ads are created and your audience is targeted. Anything done right can be successful.

    I think the best way is always to try it on a low scale and if it works or even breaks even then scale it up refine it and you should be away.

    yeah I have heard facebook is a biotch... and pretty much anything has to be targeted to men/women 18-25 ... and that shit is just competitive...

    Ok there is no scaling here. I've been given an option to choose Adwords coupon or facebook coupon. I feel that this kind of offer might go well with the facebook so just trying to get opinion from people who have used it. I agree with you that any campaign set up effectively will convert well.

    Best thing is to check if your ad is going well on adwords and then test it on facebook. Don't want to make any sweeping generalisations but... if it aint workin on google probably won't work on facebook.

    The problem with Facebook is that it's not all that targeted. Even if you only set your ads to display for people in the niche you're trying to target, you're not advertising to people who are actively looking for what you're offering. They're not on Facebook to find your product, they're on Facebook to talk to their friends or to take stupid personality quizzes.

    One of the things to remember with Facebook, is the fact you can only display adverts to very detailed people, for example you can only send adverts to teenage girls, who have keywords related to shoes, shopping, ugg boots, then adveritse a CPA offer promoting free ugg boots. I'm sure a load of teenage girls would love a free pair of ugg boots, down side, it's hard to find freebie CPA offers which allow under 18 traffic.

    Very good point you got.
    I have test it with a clickbank product , i got a 100$ coupon and i have setup a great landing pahe (usually i get a good conversion with adwords) but with facebook ads 100$ and not even 1 sale:eek:
    so its better to use adwords (even their clicks cost alot ) but it worth it .
    when trying it with clickbank i was promoting some forex robots so you can imagine the cost per click (up to 4$) but with some good keyword research and finding the keywords that convert the best for you it definitively worht tryin .

    I had no luck with it at all, with 6 years of PPC I could not utilize facebook to make it worth while. I must admit I was hired to test Facebook for specific campaigns/industries (financial & insurance etc). Needless to say results were not desirable.

    from what I see, majority of the ppl on facebook just go there to waste time,socialize , gossip and play games.
    Knowing what ppl do on facebook we should be able to exploit/utilize these certain areas and their stupidity by advertising dumb things like Quizes,surveys, personality shit etc.

    For personal tests I tried couple of ZIP/Email Submits / giveaways and clickbank products with limited success.
    Facebook and SE PPC can not be compared at all- it's apples and oranges. PPL on Adwords for example are activly pursuing/searching for the product/service you advertise and facebook they do not, it's like banner advertising.

    Besides that I did not crack their "approval process" , it appears almost as if some blind monkeys where pushing buttons, deciding to approve or disapprove ads.

    I would imagine you can profit greatly from facebook if you do your homework first. A lot of solid research and targeting is needed. To me it is not worth it as I have proven methods and projects that require my attention.

    If you got a voucher/coupon for it go ahead, if not make sure you set limits and watch the budget like a hawk.

    good luck

    Agree with above comments. Not only they are shitty.
    They banned my account instead of approving the ad. It was a fake account anyway.

    $100 dollars, 212 clicks, no conversions.. Facebook ppc is crap. In adwords would have received at least one conversion..

    so I wanted to go back and test it again as I got 2 $100 vouchers

    here re my stats for the weekend,

    stats Facebook Acc1
    Imp: 178,507
    Clicks:119
    Spent:52.29
    # Sales : 1
    $ Earnings: $17.98

    Facebook Acc 2
    ( same ad as FB acc 1 just another account and higher CPC )
    Imp: 655,398
    Clicks:106
    Spent:85.38
    # Sales : 0
    $ Earnings: $00.00

    Adwords
    Imp: 18,432
    Clicks:108
    Spent:25.38
    # Sales : 2
    $ Earnings: $35.96

    all same ads, setting except FB 1 and FB 2 have different CPC set
    this again show to me FB sucks, almost as kanoodle
    nevertheless that is my experience and I am sure others are able to construct positive ROI ads for FB, but not me. I'll stick with what works for me.

    My experience with FB:

    /dayClicks impressionsCTR (%)Avg. CPCSpent sales: 0$

    1025,5590.039%$0.18$1.80 sales: 90.35 $

    410323,415*0.127%$0.20$83.25
    earn: 90.35- 83.25= 7.1 dollars... so not worth the effort
    * : it reached 0.145 one time,

    I created an ad which sticks to fb guidelines, and redirect the person to a sandwich page NOT directly to the clickbank sales page.

    As u can see the Cpc is too expensive, I lowered my bid, but if u do so the impression lowered too!! so no exposure thus no sales.

    Til now i did not find the solution (greater exposure at a lower cost), IF SOMEBODY CAN HELP ME,
    PM PLZ THKS
