There are some important updates from Facebook Ads Manager in 2023 you should care to prepare for 2024.
1. Changes to FB Ad Manager Objectives:
There are 6 objectives to choose from 6 campaign objectives: awareness, traffic, engagement, leads, app promotion, and sales. Of course we should go with the one that best matches your business goals.
Note from FB “Campaigns you’ve created with the previous objectives will remain active and there is no need to make any changes to your existing campaigns.”
2. “Optimize text per person” feature:
It allows FB to automatically rotate your ads’ captions, headlines, and descriptions. FB machine learning predicts what user will respond to best and shows them different combinations.
For example: Your headline says “ Christmas promotion”, and your description says “B 1 get 1 on holiday merch.” For selected users, the FB algorithm may decide to swap the two & show the description first.
Otherwise, the “multiple text variations for ad copy” that you provide multiple ad text lines, and FB would choose the best ones.
3. Everyone can use Instagram reels ads:
Sometimes, FB sets restrictions for smaller ad accounts. In order to create Reels ads, you don’t have to fulfil any kind of account-level requirements.
Reels ads are displayed as a full-screen ad format in between regular Reels. Just like Reels, the ads can be up to 30 seconds long. Users are able to like, comments, watch, save and share them.
4. Targeting teens by Interest?
Targeting options now only be applied to users over the age of 18 globally. Why? Bcuz FB wanna create a safe and private exp for youngers on platform.
If your target consists of young people, your ads can be limited by FB.
5. The 20% text on Image rule is not a rule anymore. But follow it can optimize your ads, depends on you.
6. Run the tests for 10-28 days to see the results with AAA (Automated App Ads) will be better than usual.
7. Limited access to data as of IOS 14.5.
