The cost of Facebook advertising for my online store has increased by 100% in a couple of weeks.
I haven't changed anything, but the cost per click has doubled. Now, in just a few days, it became so expensive that I had to stop all advertising.

The same strategy has worked for 5 months, and now suddenly everything changed. I've been continuously creating new content and refreshing ads. What could have happened that suddenly made them really expensive? The click prices changed from under $1 to $2-5 per click.

This is a sign that the product and advertising are ineffective, or that the customer base interested in the product is very small and has already been displayed.

They have the following related problems. :
- Does your account have a payment method error?
- Has the page you used been used on accounts with payment method errors?

There have been some issues before, but they were resolved immediately. And it's been a while since then; everything has worked normally for months afterward.

This is probably a fairly realistic problem. So, should I start looking for a new target audience?

First, change your ad copy to measure it. If it's still not okay, you can turn it off and see if the product is really suitable for the current time (for example, no one buys jackets in the summer). and there are also backup products

You can try duplicating ad groups to measure. and also change image content with video

Facebook advertising is a mess right now for a month, a lot of news about it on reddit.

The only solution is there is NO solution until they fix it.
I myself changed everything about ad, started from the beginning and nothing changed.

Keep the budget low, and wait it out.

Fluctuations in the cost of Facebook advertising can occur due to various factors, including changes in demand, competition, audience behavior, and Facebook's algorithms. Here are some potential reasons why you might be experiencing a sudden increase in advertising costs:
  1. Increased Competition: If more advertisers are targeting the same audience or bidding for the same ad placements, it can drive up the cost of advertising on Facebook. Your ads may be competing with a larger number of advertisers, leading to higher costs per click.
  2. Seasonal Trends: Certain times of the year, such as holidays or peak shopping seasons, tend to have higher advertising demand. During these periods, advertisers may increase their ad spend, resulting in higher costs for ad placements.
  3. Algorithm Changes: Facebook frequently updates its advertising algorithms and features, which can impact ad delivery and pricing. Changes in how ads are targeted, optimized, or prioritized within the auction system may influence advertising costs.
  4. Audience Behavior: Changes in user behavior, such as shifts in interests or engagement patterns, can affect ad performance and pricing. If your target audience's behavior has changed, it may impact the effectiveness and cost of your ads.
  5. Ad Relevance and Quality: Facebook prioritizes ads that are relevant and engaging to users. If your ads are not resonating with your target audience or are perceived as low-quality, it can result in higher costs per click.
  6. Ad Fatigue: Over time, audiences may become less responsive to ads that they've seen repeatedly, leading to decreased ad performance and higher costs per click. Refreshing your ad creative and targeting strategies can help mitigate ad fatigue.
  7. Market Dynamics: External factors such as economic conditions or industry trends can influence advertising costs on Facebook. Changes in the broader market landscape may impact the competitiveness of advertising auctions and pricing.
To address the sudden increase in advertising costs, consider the following steps:
  • Review and optimize your ad targeting, creative, and messaging to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Experiment with different bidding strategies, ad formats, and audience segments to find opportunities for cost savings.
  • Monitor your ad performance closely and adjust your advertising strategy based on real-time data and insights.
  • Consider diversifying your advertising channels or exploring alternative marketing tactics to supplement your Facebook advertising efforts.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, Facebook updates, and changes in audience behavior to adapt your advertising strategy accordingly.
Overall, it's important to continuously monitor and optimize your Facebook advertising campaigns to achieve your marketing objectives efficiently, especially in the face of fluctuating advertising costs.

You can try tracking factors like competition, target audience performance, ad formats, and changes in Facebook's algorithm. At the same time, consider optimizing your advertising strategy in response to these changes, to better understand the situation

In 7-8 years of advertising on META i don't think there's ever been a period where so many people are complaining at once for a full month

this is pretty bad, have you tried changing accounts and pages

Please try other ads to measure, I think your product has fewer interested customers

Its a combination of facebook being down, people not having money in this period of year and facebook rolling out new tools for ads. I hope everything settles as quickly as possible.

Does your account have a payment method error? You should change your account and pages also

Product advertising needs changes, content, images, and new marketing tactics,
- That helps you optimize costs safely and regularly. If you want to work on products, you can consult a few agents on the forum, they will help you.

I think your product or campaign is no longer suitable, it is only suitable for a small customer base, try changing your content or media to make it clearer.

When you use that campaign for too long, when Facebook updates frequently, your ads will get old and your ability to reach customers will also decrease. So you should really refresh your ads with another campaign
