I so would like to say "F*CK GOOGLE!" I really would after my experience with them but...

I use Google for work and Google Search / Maps / Gmail... so its hard to say "F*CK GOOGLE!" as the alternatives are not good enough, correct me if im wrong. For example take Google Play where we download apps from.... the alternatives most people havent heard of.... there is Samsung App Store... but who uses that? Google owns Android and so they set it all up so that end users will be almost forced into using their products and services.. because if you dont you will have some disadvantage over all your friends/peers/competitors.

I have many years experience working with Google Play as a partner. The service they provide is good and the reach they can provide your apps/business is unbeatable by miles.

BUT...

Once things go wrong, thats it. There is no reasoning, talking to them. They will suspend your app/account while you are sleeping or on holiday (almost like they know youre out of office and taken your eye off the ball). All you will get is the dreaded email the next morning with the word SUSPENDED in big red writing, which leaves you crying inside while on the outside youre gasping for air trying to come to terms with it.

In my case they have suspended several apps and each time it has clearly been wrong:
One time my app got suspended for use of a trademark of a popular game, however I hadnt even published the game and their terms clearly stated that uploading an app for alpha testing (which is internal testing) does not undergo the approval process.. So it should not have been suspended, but yes if i published it that would have been a different story.

Another time they suspended my app saying that the app did not function as described. Which again was clearly wrong because I have many video demonstrations showing how the app works and that it DOES work. I even offered to show them the app working in a live stream demo, but they said no.

When you appeal, they most likely will just reject the appeal, if you carry on emailing them to ask for the exact reasons or to negotiate they will just fob you off and give you nothing.

I made another app based on their feedback.. they approved it first time, no issues. I then changed nothing much (maybe the odd logo or minor change to the description). I then spent thousands marketing it. The app started doing well, making some good money daily on autopilot almost.. then bam without warning on morning the dreaded suspension email... for the same reason as the previous suspension, which is that the app did not work as described.... but then why did the approve the app multiple times?

Its like they wait till your app or account is doing well financially and then they snatch your dreams and hopes... knocking you to the grounds....

Either that or some jealous b~~tard(s) / haters / competitors are keeping an eye on my progress and then finding a way to sabotage things for me when I am doing well?

I have tried to take Google Play to a third party online dispute resolution body (CEDR) but they rejected my request after 5 months of waiting for a reply. Why? Obviously they know they are wrong.

Im also sure most of the communication is done by bots/AI who just tell you in their polite way; sorry for ending your business and destroying your dreams and plans... but thanks for your understanding

I wish there was another app platform that was more developer friendly that could kick google's arse and that there was more support for independent developers against these big tech tyrants (the 21st century villains), like a trade union that would help with legal action...

Sorry if this was a long post but I have alot to complain about and anger over this so...

oh and if anyone knows any solicitor / law firm that will take up a case against google play on a no win no fee basis, please do let me know.

That would be a lose for any lawyer.

To quote Forrest Gump, "Google is as Google does".

Kinda like when I was in school and I complained about the bully and no one helped cos "Bully is as Bully does", till i punched and knocked the little s**t to the floor and started a whole new happy chapter

Just wanted to say the same thing mostly, even if you lawyer up 99.99% of every app, website, platform etc have a line in theyr T&C that says something along the lines of "this can be modified at any time by ^insert business name here^" or vague rules so that they can kick you out anytime they want without any hassle.

Online games ( mmo's mostly ) for example have a line that says your account is platforms property and they let you use it and if they ban you, you cant really do anything to fight it back.

EDIT : If you used same account and got rejected multiple times maybe you want to try uploading apps from other account.
Second thing Id do would be to try and not F ( and find out ) with the app anymore after uploading. <-- This in regards to app name / logo

Having an account with a game or tik tok and getting that banned is different to having an app/account suspended by google play.

Because you pay a fee to open the business account with google play. You sign up as a business partner, where they take like 15-30% off all the money your app makes. Its a business and many people are setting up full time app businesses, without really understanding that they have little to no support if things go wrong...

In this situation its like a bunch of villagers opening up stalls in a village market area, then every week the big gangster (who 'owns' and ruthlessly rules the local villages because he thinks it his birthright) sends his henchmen to all the stalls and they all have to hand over 50% of their earnings... anyone who doesnt pay or complains gets beaten up and made an example of. Every now and again when the big gangster is peed off about something or just in a bad mood, he will go down in person to some random village market, choose some stall owner, beat him up and trash his stall without warning, without good reason... The stall owner gets up, tries to pick up the pieces after getting fixed up at the hospital, while everyone tries to console him telling him yes what the gangster did was wrong.... but really no one helps hime, they just secretly glad it wasnt them....

however in true reality if they all stood up for each other, the gangster would become a manageable issue they could work together and overcome.

its the same for developers I guess... I mean there are so many developers and businesses screwed by google play... if they all really wanted to, they could stand up for each other and shut google play down, simply by not continuiing... google play makes most of its money from the hard work of other developers and publishers... so what happens if no one updates, supports or releases new apps on play....

Well, that is the modern business world. Rich monopolistic corporations do what they please. If you are serious about understanding why this happens, look up the prisoner's dilemma and the free rider problem. The Wikipedia article will do fine. It explains why collective action (such as the action you propose developers taking) is very, very difficult for individuals to spontaneously organize.

Yes you are right..

Its cos if you are benefitting from something/someone that wrongs someone else... you care more about losing your benefit than supporting the person being wronged i guess... sad as it is...

Im sure it was very difficult for the black people of usa to come together to overthrow slavery back in those times.... but a million man (or developer) march / protest is sometimes what it takes to bring about a good change for the average person and humanity

I had a youtube(owned by google of course) channel with 300 videos that did not violate TOS, then I uploaded 3 about kratom and it was permabanned. Fucking bullshit because they apply the rule about illicit substances including street drugs or abusing prescription drugs, but it's federally legal, non-scheduled(only scheduled substances can be prescription) - it is less regulated than tobacco, cannabis, CBD, or alchohol, but they don't apply that rule to those videos. But it's like dang, ok, fine take those down, but removing my 300 videos is bullshit. Fuck em

Yes im sure you are not a criminal, but they treat you like one now..... they could have sent you a warning to take the videos down, they could have removed the offending videos and given a policy strike and warning email, not right to take down all your videos

Most of Google's better services have very usable alternatives. The reason Google is so hard to get the fuck out of your life is that most of it is quite easy for the most part. Personally I fucking hate most of their services, especially the ones aimed at webmasters.

They have essentially bought their way into the top of the search engine hill as their rankings have never been good. I used to be able to get what I wanted first search almost every time with Yahoo, way back in the day. While on TV everyone was googling and getting spam, I was getting my answers and dipping out.

There really isn't a huge amount where Google add much value to my world at all, in fact I would say overall they are a pain in the ass. If they don't pull their head out their ass with AI I reckon they'll lose their dominance there and without the "best" search engine what will become of their ad network.

Saying what you want to say to Google is not possible.
Don't forget that they control 90% of the world. And living without them would be like the world without electricity.

Really? People have lived without the internet for decades in a modernish time, let alone without google...

But I know what you mean i use google search, maps etc... but if those were not here id jst be using summat else like how i used ask jeeves and yahoo search before google

Im sure most people would rather and quite easily live without google as opposed to living with leccy
:D

@therealrio u know what bro , i use to love making games on play store but suddenly after 2-3 months i got ban , they wont even listen so yeah fuck google , now i try to fuck them in what ever way possible
im not alone in this and youre not alone...

maybe devs/publishers like us should form a group and then decide on group action... petitions, action etc...

Forrest Gump is a movie about "The life story of Forrest, a low IQ boy with limb paresis who becomes a billionaire and a hero of the Vietnam War."

That sounds like a killer plot!!
