[Eye-friendly colors] How do you read ebooks ?

Hello, I was wondering, how do you guys read ebooks on your pc/phone/tablet ?

• Black text on white background or white text on black background ?
• Black text on white background (when there is a lot of light in my room) or white text on black background (at night) is it good idea ?

Recently I feel my eyes are going to explode after reading something on white background (only at night). I start feeling sleepy and can't focus, but when I change the background to black I feel much better.
How is it for you ?
Any good software you can suggest ? Thank you all and sorry if there are any mistakes.

That's the whole reason for reading with white text, black background. To make it easier for your eyes in the dark.

Black text black background. I feel like I haven't learned much, though.

I have my tablet specially coded to change the colors of the background and text on each page using a variety of psychedelic colors from the late 60's which are endorsed by the late Abbie Hoffman, Janice Joplin and Jimi Hendrix.

It brings me back to my childhood and makes me feel like I can throw a football 40 yards again.

It's the screen's glare that's killing you - reduce the brightness to lowest. If that's not enough, prefer apps that have a night mode that used beige background instead of black. The reason is that black background with white letters strain your eye lens and should be avoided.

For a number of years I have used the white version theme for BHW because reading white on a black background causes lines across vision when I look away from the screen. I also found that using a program call i.flux https://justgetflux.com helps a huge amount.

I use a text to speach program so i don't need to read. Instead i can just listen and do some other stuff at the same time.
