Explaining Like/Comment groups

I really dont understand why people want to be in like/comment groups.... It can only bring you few more likes and comments. Am i right?

A like from a bigger account has much more value than the average IG user. Hence why you see the 10k+,30k+ groups. It's not about the amount of likes you receive, it's the power those likes have in bringing you to top of ur selected hashtags.
 
Okay, but I think that this works only for group restricted to a specific niche, not generic.
 
Give me the niches in dogpoo, VHS recorder, refridgerators, pencil sharpeners, toiletseats.....I take them all, as long they are big and have a good engagement.

No, it's about going on the explore page, not the hashtags.
