[Example] You Want to Know Why You Aren't Making Money?

Most people are lazy. True. But why?

Because they never made any dime online. They are going in a dark tunnel with no light, so they don't know how to react/respond to cause to the situations which come.

People who go to a 9/5 job, aren't lazy. Why? Well, it's due to their fear of losing the job, but also because they have a GUARANTEED wage. People who go into IM, don't have any guarantee that they will be able to attain any kind of monetary return for their efforts.

Look on Google. How many spots do you see? 10. How many are actually worthy of your time? 5. See? The window is pretty tight. Sure, there are many keywords, but there are also many marketers(bad ones, luckily). If people wouldn't be lazy, you probably wouldn't be showing your earnings now.

Also, what actually means laziness? Could it be, your incapacity to control your brain from pleasure seeking? Anybody has a crush. Do you have any idea how terrifying is to always think of her, at every moment, without any short of self-control? It's really difficult to control your emotional brain. In high school, I was crippled. Hell, I know somebody who lost a pretty good job position due to their alcohol addiction.

And my guess is that the alcohol addiction came from having a crush on a certain girl(just speculation) or maybe from a breakup.

Or people who watch porn. I was on dopamine challenge at least 2 times, and every time I'm returning to my old habits. Why? Because it's hard. There are still variables that I can't control. Like, if I come here and I see some boobs pics, BOOM, my animal desires triggers. And it's fucking hard to control them, although I've got this.

Not only that, but people are afraid, anxious. In November, I was shitting my pants to reply to somebody. Now, look at me. I'm not that bad, am I? Believe me, it took a lot of mental power and overcoming stress to be able to reach to this point(not trying to brag, I'm nobody).

Now please stop trying to throw the shit(not really focusing on you @SEO) at people for being incapable of earning money online because they don't really want it. It's difficult for an average person. For example, I didn't even know what time management truly is until recently when I've experimented it.
Dude, you know seo is just one way yo promote your crap, right?

Truth is that all my passive income i built it while I was employed. Now that I have all the free time in the world I'm stuck and can't do anything.
Wait, so you lost your income streams?

I completely agree with you. The bulk of my income is fairly passive (mostly display ads). I'll never forget when I first started out. My wife thought it was a waste of time for me to be writing all of these articles each day when I was making $0.10 (on a good day!). Now, she is fully on board and helps in basically every part of our business. She gladly admits to being wrong about my idea of making money online.

Everyone is around once they see the money.

Yeah I get your point and agree with you.

Yeah I'm a developer! My largest project is a full-stack, open source PHP framework Which took me one and a half years to develop, with tons of fancy stuff here and there, I finished it in December but I've been holding it until my commercial product is ready.

Definitely dig into software development, do not hesitate in creating a product or service of your own, that's were the real money is at. Warn you, it's a tough road but it's worth it.

If you need any advice on software development I'd be glad to help. :)

I'm interested in software development. Any advice on where to start?

Ironically, it took me two years to learn of keyword research when I started. That information is gold, albeit basic and fairly well-known now. Keyword research is so dead-easy with tools like KWFinder that this information alone can make you a lot of money if you take the time to learn it and write the content. There are tons of resources to learn how to execute proper keyword research, so don't be upset that someone doesn't lay out a 10,000 word post on how to research keywords.

Are there a bunch of tools running around posing as experts with this type of basic advice? Yep! That part sucks, but those people are pretty easy to identify. The unsexy truth of this business is that the bulk of the money people make come from very fundamental things. Mine certainly does. Sure, there are some clever methods, but most of it boils down to this:
  1. Make good content.
  2. Put appealing offer inside good content.
  3. Get people to your good content. [This is where black hat and white hat comes in]
  4. People click on offer.
  5. ...
  6. Profit.

I can understand some of your frustrations. There are a lot of salesmen on here. I also see a lot of great information. I think your frustration stems from the fact that a lot of detail is left out. I don't think 90% is bullshit, I imagine a much smaller percentage is bullshit, and the balance just lacks the detail you want. This is one of my pet peeves with newbies: they want a sure thing. I can't count the number of "is this safe?" or "how can I make a guaranteed $100/month?" threads I see.

Someone could provide a step-by-step method to how they made $1k/month and you might not experience anywhere near the same success. That's because:
  • Niches are different.
  • Your link building or content writing skills are different.
  • You targeted the wrong audience with the wrong offer.
  • You chose the wrong social platform to pimp your content.
  • They used paid ads, and you didn't want to spend any money.
  • There are a ton of variables.
In addition to that: if you worked in an obscure business, would you willingly hand another competitor your entire playbook? Sure, you might be willing to mentor someone new to the game, but you certainly wouldn't hand them all of the secrets you spent years learning. I say "competitors" because while we're all friendly on here, we're all competing for spot #1 on Google. You know there has to be some keyword overlap between members on here.

Not to mention the fact how many people will half-ass their attempt at your method, then rip on your method for "sucking." An intelligent saying springs to mind when I see this situation occur:

Getting to your last point:

I will point out the irony that you rip on people for "showing their salary to 'hype' you", but then request I show my income. Not being a dick here, just wanted to point out that you're requesting the distraction that people use to distract you.

Considering this is the second request I've had in this thread, and I imagine it may become a recurring theme, I'll oblige (tagging @shephard since I s/he also requested this info). I won't show my entire income because it would take way more screenshots than I care to take the time to make and censor (and quite honestly, it's no ones business but my own). I get paid into a lot of accounts and from a lot of different sources. This is from one of my PayPal accounts.

Now, stop being distracted and get to work. I hope I've helped in some way.

so basically i work my ass off and do good seo and the money will flow in if the content is good, website is designed good, and my product is good?

Keyword Research. Find keyword, find keywords around keyword, rank easy keywords around keyword, keywords follow. It really is that simple.

I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't start making and uploading videos to YouTube 10 years earlier. I didn't realize that I could possibly be any good at it. Imagine how many subs I could have had today if I started back then. Not taking action is just as bad as being lazy.

Reactions: SEO
My story | :(

Step 1: seeing a new method, getting excited

Step 2: learning everything, preparing everything, getting everything ready ( i have this disorder of making things perfect, calculating everything, designing everything to make sure i get the best conversions )

Step 3: when everything is prepared & its time for action i am always running away from it

I mean i am 1000% sure i will make l ton of money if i execute my plan but i don't ( that's lack of self discipline or control )

Right now i have a website to complete, which will get me amazon approved, i have YouTube videos to promote i have found great non competitive niches with huge traffic, i have, one more method, i know, if i will do it will make money within 24 hours ( i have not invented anything new, its in this forum ) but i am procrastinating, back then i learned everything about that Instagram method, i was that close to test things out, but i never did that and later mass planner got screwed. i still have all those plans and stuff i prepared ( learned mass planner best settings )
but it doesn't excite me :(

I can do anything, videos, ppc, cpa, design, code, marketing, developing software, but i never did anything,
I have learned this the hard way " that you do anything but not everything " since then i have only focused on one thing

this makes me really sad, its like i don't have control on my own self

Although i have found out a way, its discipline and i am really hopeful.

Thanks "Seo" for your post, i really needed this, i have to face the truth

Is this me ? or you are talking about yourself

i feel retarded i read so much shit and ignored it over the years. "oh it must be harder then they say" . lol thanks for confirming. Should i even try harder keywords or just stick to a lot of keywords with less comp? How fast should i rank? how many posts should i do for each keyword? i was doing 3 or 4 articles before and did not rank pretty good. IT probably was too high comp tho.

The harder keywords just tend to follow, then give them a push. From my experience it is far easier to get harder keywords to rank, by ranking easier long tail related keywords first.

When I have tried in reverse going for harder first, I tend to end up tanking the site before any decent results.

Mostly these days I will just go for content on a site, then when I see natural easy keywords coming into the top 100, I start to push them with links. It really ain't as hard as people make out.

You're a perfectionist. You focus on making every single detail stand out, probably because you don't want to get a negative feedback. I mean I'm like that too. The root of perfectionism is the fear of failure. In other words, you and I are scared because of how people will react to our work. Not to mention, that we may provide inaccurate information.

Also, we are supposed to get out of comfort zone, and hence, we just procrastinate and avoid the real pain(by doing stuff like planning, calculating etc.).

What do you think?

you are correct, for me its a mix of perfecting things, fear of success, fear of failure, lack of self control, i don't like making mistakes so i take forever to perfect them and when there isn't any thing left, many days have already passed, now i have no motivation to take action.

man, i have no pressure of succeeding in my life, even if i don't work i will survive, that comfort zone inside my brain is rusting me, most people who do achieve big success were the one who were in real bad times, i mean you don't always need bad times to make you work, some work for passion and succeed, but my passion isn't going to make me money, so what i am doing may not be my passion, and when you do something you don't have passion for, you will give up.

So what does that mean, i mean do what you love, love what you do, so you will continue doing it and won't give up now the worst part, that doesn't work for me, some times i feel deep inside me, that i don't want to work, i just want to hire people whom i can guide and lay a plan for them & they will bring me all the success , that is my plan at the end of the day, but its not going to happen at this stage, i have to work alone to get to a certain level so that i can hire some people ( virtual assistant ) buy services and create and execute the things i like & the money will just be a bi product :D

It really takes time luck and research to make money. You got to work hard too as well.
