Most people are lazy. True. But why?

Because they never made any dime online. They are going in a dark tunnel with no light, so they don't know how to react/respond to cause to the situations which come.

People who go to a 9/5 job, aren't lazy. Why? Well, it's due to their fear of losing the job, but also because they have a GUARANTEED wage. People who go into IM, don't have any guarantee that they will be able to attain any kind of monetary return for their efforts.

Look on Google. How many spots do you see? 10. How many are actually worthy of your time? 5. See? The window is pretty tight. Sure, there are many keywords, but there are also many marketers(bad ones, luckily). If people wouldn't be lazy, you probably wouldn't be showing your earnings now.

Also, what actually means laziness? Could it be, your incapacity to control your brain from pleasure seeking? Anybody has a crush. Do you have any idea how terrifying is to always think of her, at every moment, without any short of self-control? It's really difficult to control your emotional brain. In high school, I was crippled. Hell, I know somebody who lost a pretty good job position due to their alcohol addiction.

And my guess is that the alcohol addiction came from having a crush on a certain girl(just speculation) or maybe from a breakup.

Or people who watch porn. I was on dopamine challenge at least 2 times, and every time I'm returning to my old habits. Why? Because it's hard. There are still variables that I can't control. Like, if I come here and I see some boobs pics, BOOM, my animal desires triggers. And it's fucking hard to control them, although I've got this.

Not only that, but people are afraid, anxious. In November, I was shitting my pants to reply to somebody. Now, look at me. I'm not that bad, am I? Believe me, it took a lot of mental power and overcoming stress to be able to reach to this point(not trying to brag, I'm nobody).

Now please stop trying to throw the shit(not really focusing on you @SEO) at people for being incapable of earning money online because they don't really want it. It's difficult for an average person. For example, I didn't even know what time management truly is until recently when I've experimented it.

Good response. I do see your last sentence about it not being entirely directed at me, and even if it were directed at me completely, I'd be cool with it :).

My Intentions

I don't want people to mistake my intentions with this post. I would love for everyone to succeed. This post was intended to motivate people who just needed that little extra push to act.

Discussing Peoples' Limitations

Everyone has their troubles to deal with. I certainly had mine to overcome which I highlight a couple throughout this thread, but by no means were they my only hurdles. I worked my 40+ hour a week job, came home and spent hours writing articles. I'd wake up early on the weekends and write, network and market all day. I abandoned all time sucking vampires like video games and cable television. Obviously, each person has their own challenges, and some more than others.

I also won't act like I had the world against me either. I had a lot of stuff going for me:
  • I hit the "birth lottery" by being born in a developed country.
  • I had exposure to computers at a relatively young age.
  • Making websites and software was my hobby growing up in my teens.
  • I'm an extroverted person who has no problems talking with just about anyone.
  • The internet continues to grow and opportunities continue to expand.
I came into this business with a lot of good things going for me. So I don't want to sit in my ivory tower and act like there are no legitimate excuses.

Getting Past Limitations

I also don't want to people to think that their circumstances are impossible. I believe anyone can pull themselves out of their circumstances. Whether I'm right or wrong about that is a whole different story, but I do believe that anyone on here has the capacity to succeed if they put enough effort in.

What I do know is that the internet has democratized business ownership. So long as you have a computer and the internet, starting a business has never been easier. And we are all lucky to have recognized that opportunity (why else would anyone be on this forum?)

Also, try not to take my use of the word "laziness" at face value. It was really intended in the bootcamp motivation sense. You know "GET DOWN AND DO 50 PUSHUPS YOU MAGGOT!" I don't actually think the person is fly larvae :p.

Making Money Requires Taking Action

We all start with our online income at $0.00. Some of us make money because of luck, but most make the money because of hard work and perseverance- and most importantly, taking action.

There isn't a single person on BHW making money who didn't take action. There are plenty of people on BHW who haven't made a dime because they haven't taken the plunge. I'm just trying to help some people cross that divide.

I really wish I recalled who said this, but the dude said: "I wish I could force every person on this planet to visit my landing page. Even if 99.99% said no, I would be a multi-millionaire, possibly even a billionaire."

If you don't make an offer, you don't have a chance to make any money.

One time, I told an employee "we need to get all of these articles published ASAP." She asked what my rush was. I said "articles are like fishing poles. Every one of them has the ability to bring in a sale, maybe even a couple. But the lines need to be in the water." She said that she had never thought of it that way.

Fear In Business

Anyways, back to your points. I firstly want to apologize for the long-winded response, but you clearly took time to respond to my thread, so I wanted to do you the same courtesy. Fear comes from within, it is seated in self-doubt. It sucks. Everyone experiences some level of fear. For some, it manifests in a nervous excitement (think being on a roller coaster just before the drop), for others it manifests itself in anxious paralysis (wanting to talk to a girl who seems completely out of your league). For anyone who struggles with fear, there are a number of books I have read and would recommend.
  • The Icarus Deception by Seth Godin - Life changing book for me, albeit, a long book.
  • Quite honestly, most of Seth Godin's work is about fear. Check out his blog for really short, great reads if you don't want to spend any money.
  • Fearless by Max Lucado - Christian book about living a life free of fear.
  • Weird by Craig Groeschel - Another Christian book that expounds living a life that other people just can't comprehend.

Dude people are lazy as shit . My one buddy would literally watch a show he didn't like because he didn't feel like getting up and getting the remote for across the room, let alone getting the door for the pizza delivery guy. The reason why people go work at a 9 to 5 job is because THEY HAVE TO. And even when they are working they are lazy as shit never really putting 100% into their job or look for another job that pays them more. LAZY = settling in life. They HAVE TO go to work but they don't have to get online to make money, spend weeks or months with it seeming like you're not going anywhere. It's the whole world of instant gratification and instant results that's the cause of it. Why sit here and work hard and feel accomplished if I can just smoke this cig, drink this beer, watch porn, or sit on Facebook counting my likes and kinda feel accomplished. Even worse people adopt this victim mentality thinking the world is against them.

There was this video about being wealthy and one part of it was the 3 things poor people do, Complain about their situation, Judge others who have what they want, and adopt a victim mentality. Its like those fat people that sit there and make fun of people who are actually trying to loose weight, complain that its everyone else who's the problem, and think everyone else needs to change and not them. Look, if you're not where you are at in your life then FUCKIN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT (not directly to you gman777 but whoever is reading this)

Yeah I get your point and agree with you.

Yeah I'm a developer! My largest project is a full-stack, open source PHP framework Which took me one and a half years to develop, with tons of fancy stuff here and there, I finished it in December but I've been holding it until my commercial product is ready.

Definitely dig into software development, do not hesitate in creating a product or service of your own, that's were the real money is at. Warn you, it's a tough road but it's worth it.

If you need any advice on software development I'd be glad to help. :)

Nope, you're far from alone in this. Every. single. person. on this forum has had doubt, and experienced some amount of anxiety.

The first time you post an article, you're nervous. Will people like it, will people hate it?
The first time you build links to a site. Will Google penalize me? Will Matt Cutts come to my house and peek on me while I'm showering?
The first time you ask someone if they want a guest post. Will they laugh at me? Will they call me out for being a nobody?

The funniest thing of all, the most common thing that happens is...

We spend so much time worrying about what will happen once we do something, just to find out it was a non-issue. But, everyone still experiences fear. It will obviously be to different extremes, but it happens to everyone. Also, it's OK to feel like a fraud. All "authorities" are frauds until other people decide they're an authority. Read another way: all authorities are frauds until they aren't.

Seth Godin is one of my favorite reads regarding fear and feeling like a fraud. Here are some really great reads regarding this:

The thing is, most of us don't have to deal with tigers any longer. But the fear still runs deep.

We still feel the same feelings when we face possible failure, but now those feelings revolve around shame. Losing a videogame in private is fine, but asking a stupid question in a meeting is not.

Shame is the dream killer, because shame (or the possibility of shame) amplifies our fear of fear, keeps us from contributing and short circuits our willingness to explore.

As soon as we give it a name, though, as soon as we call it out, we can begin to move forward. Fear of shame unspoken is fear of shame amplified.

Be afraid of significant failure if you can quantify the downsides. But fear of shame is a waste and a trap.

Hello, I read tons of thread about how to make money and decided to choose a dish wash niche (starting with it, it will add more project if this one finally works), I want to work hard but each time I am distracted by one thing: am I doing this for nothing ?
I wrote 3 articles with complete seo with kwfinder, but I can't find a way to get some traffic and I feel like I write something no one will read.
Should I write more article before trying to get traffic ? I know I need to have more article but I wanted to see results before continuing, is that an error ?

Yo SEO, I usually just lurk and grab new methods (which have been working $$), but I had to chime in. Everything in this post is so damn true. A lot of people here are stuck with paralysis by analysis. You have to learn by doing and be willing to risk a little money here and there. If you "fail", do it fast, but treat it as a learning experience not a loss. The money I make online is not my main source of income, but it helps. I think there's really 2 types of people on here; creators and spectators. A lot of people visiting this site want something for nothing, shit I was one of them, but nothing beats hard work. The time is going to pass either way, wouldn't you rather look back and be glad you busted your ass creating something you're proud of?

To new members reading this here is a guaranteed method that will not earn you any money right away, if that turns you off you're a spectator, but will generate revenue over time.

Buy Linux hosting, it's much faster and more stable than Windows with Plesk. $8/mo
Buy a domain. <$20/yr
Install WordPress in your root directory (GoDaddy makes this pretty easy) FREE
Go to envato market and buy a theme that you like then FTP the zip file under wp-content--->themes
Extract the files in the themes folder and activate it within wordpress
Customize your theme to your liking
Sign up for adsense and generate your ad units
Place ads in strategic locations

If you've gotten this far, the next part is easy...

Put your brain to work and start writing about whatever it is that you love!

If you're struggling to get traffic create an FB page, twitter, IG, fucking myspace I don't care just promote!

Give it time and you will eventually earn some money, the biggest gain from it will be knowledge.
