Everyone read this and comment

I think it is pretty clear that the download-section is causing the most problems.
However, granting only Jr.VIP members access or simply removing it just wouldn't be fair.
As it can be a great help to download a few tools that can help you out in your daily work,
without having to spend a crap load of money for it, just to find out it doesn't work as you expected.
However, the way the download section is being treated right now is definitely not the way to go!
There are a few simple things we really need to implement in order to fight the chaos.

Only people with 50 quality posts get access:
Short, senseless posts get deleted immediately.
After 3 warnings a 7-day ban should be made.

If a download post is made it has to include at least:

The full description of the product and what it does.
A short, honest review of the product and how it can be put to use.

If a request post is made it has to include at least:

The full description of the product and what it does.
Why you need it and how others could put it to use.

Complete download section is moderated:
Both download and request posts get reviewed before they go live.
Nonsense commenting gets deleted immediately, no excuses.

Download section acts as "secret stash":
The download section is only a little corner of the forum.
Posts from the download don't get shown on the "Home" page.

I think this will cut 95% of the bullshit,
so I would consider this last option only as last solution.

Access is only granted to donors:
Direct-linking to downloads is strictly forbidden.
Discussion of downloads is limited to the download section.

Just my 2 cents

Yeah, the "Can you crack Xrumer?" threads are the perfect example of how out of control the warez thing is.

I wil not deny that I have found some of the so-called "shared" software and a few programs useful but there is a point at which this sort of this becomes absurd and BHW is past that point.

Beleive me, I know how much time it takes to porperly moderate a forum, especially one of this size and membership and as the result have tons of respect for the mods and admin!

It appears to me that it would take a couple of guys on in shifts to moderate so that everything for sale was in BST and warez could be removed.

I dunno; I don't envy the position of mods and admin.

There is a ton of junk shared (and some real gems to be fair), but I don't think that's the heart of the problem. The newbies who come here seeking info (and not a hand holding session) deserve to have that info available to them. One thing they do not deserve is this...

Senior members touting shit they honestly don't believe in. I wont name names here (not really needed, and irrelevant) but there is no excuse for some of the shit that goes on with these guys. They push push push, until drama hits, then run the other way and disown the program. IMO that's not only shady, it's weak. Form your opinion, then own it. Don't be fair weather, and don't exploit this great forum or the reputation it has given you. If you want to push something do it, but don't fucking lie about results to do so. You know who the fuck you are, and it's just not right. BHW does not benefit from this, and it really does nothing but hurt the rep here. I think this is a way bigger deal than any bullshit going on in the downloads section. junior vip and up is (and should be treated as) a privilege.

Otherwise though, mods/admins here go above and beyond. This place is not a profitable venture for these guys, it's a labor of love. People really should start appreciating that. I see so many members with a sense of entitlement it's sick. Like the forex thread with the guy berating harro for his affiliate link.

I know we are all blackhat guys - but jesus titty fucking christ, have some appreciation and honor at least.

The hell you don't. You're referring to us as a group, and I don't appreciate it. I have never ONCE endorsed something I have not or would not use myself, and your implication is offensive.

Don't be a bitch. Name names if you feel so strongly about it.

Hotstox: I think you just articulated what a lot of us are thinking. Good for you!!!

Can you point to one instance of such a thing happening?

Form your opinion, then own it.

Dunno about others but I'd rather have people change their opinion if they realize it was wrong ..

Don't get butthurt ape. The vast majority of this group (of which I am a part of) are good, contributing members.

The people that matter know who I am talking about - and I am sure you do too. I did not imply all of, or even a majority of the senior members here are shitbags. I am just saying there are some people here who really don't deserve the rep or treatment they get. If you have a problem with this then I am sorry.

There is a difference in being proven wrong and having grace, and finding religion when your pounding on the pearly gates.

Charging for the stuff will just get the owners of the site into legal trouble, not a good idea imo. Having a minimum number of posts is a better idea.

Me I found this site by searching for making money idea and read some of the topics before becoming a member, I didn't even know there was a download section till after I became a member.

Not sure if this has been stated and sorry if it has.. Read this post the other day, but went right to bed afterwards..

Download and request section only available to donors? Think what really hurts the most is getting linked from DP and having a transfer of members... Atleast we don't have the masses of review copy posts.. :)

I do think info books on the other hand should stay as they are.. Would limit the "i need moniez" threads just by simply referring them to that section and deleting the old post.. Sure the posts are funny, but the infos all here..

Or we could implement the ol' warez requests thread if we didn't want to see it go away completely. Which would just be in the "downloads section", a single topic based on requests.. No bullshit posts and requests would be handled by PM's.. Sure that leaves the others emptyhanded who would like that product also, but didn't get the pm..

I dunno.. It be best if it was just scrapped all together, but there are "useful" things that do make life easier.. Which is nice for all of us(in the time department).. In the end though as stated already, you don't need these products to make a buck..

I agree there is too much cr*p in the downloads section. It is because most noobs do not know how to tell the good quality ebooks from the rehashed. All these downloads offered and download requests posts that appear when you hit new posts makes it harder to see the posts which give real info and methods. What I would like is a section where members can give their personal reviews or recommendations of ebooks and software they found useful and also point out those that are complete waste of time. This will greatly help noobies and save us a lot of time reading ebooks that is worthless.

I can hardly believe the egos that are flying around in this thread! And I can hardly believe the hypocracy either. Many of the same people in this thread who are saying that ebooks and downloads are crap also clicked the "Thanks" button on my big post of downloads last week (See "Attention Shoppers! - WizGizmo Strikes Again!" in the members downloads section).

There is a lot of destructive "separatism" being instigated by people here, and I don't see where this is constructive at all. At most, it CREATES more problems rather than solving them.

There is a lot of "Us Cool Big Dogs vs. The Little Asshole N00BS" going on. There seems to be an underlying "caste system". IE: "We know, and you don't" going on.

I have a solution:

1) Stop ALL downloads from being available.

2) Throw ALL the noobs out (except for the ones who have proven that they are "Cool Big Dogs").

3) Closely scrutinize ALL posts.

4) Close the doors to any new members (unless they pay a $2000 membership fee).

5) Enjoy your exclusivity.

PS: If you detect a note of sarcasm in this post, I do not apologize for it. I am simply disgusted with the egotistical, self-serving "gang mentality" that has proven to be so blatent in many of the preceding posts of this thread.

Yeah! I agree! stop sharing ebooks unless you are an Executive VIP or you did some serious money with a new method described in that book. I don't read them. I can't spend my life reading crap.
better write a 200-300 words tutorial about what works for you ;or tell about the idea in some book.
Or: share any ebook only after you describe it in 100-200 words what's in it. if i find it interesting i will download and give thanks.

I can't speak for anyone else on this forum, but I think that most people appreciate the intentions of a majority of posters who consistently post to the member downloads section. Your download posts certainly are a great contribution to the forum that many people find value in. I think that the point some people are trying to make is that at a certain juncture a decision has to be made with regards to legitimacy and legality. I'm of the belief that this community was created to facilitate easy communication between people who are interested in a gaining a different perspective on the many different ways that internet marketing can be profitable. If the content of certain posts makes it harder for the administrators and moderators to maintain and structure that kind of efficacious, progressive communication, I think it's reasonable to allow them to make a decision to put an end to it.

In short, the communication of any information, be it ebook or forum post, is better than lurking, but if it is a struggle for the people who maintain and pay for this website to support a certain kind of post, those kinds of posts probably shouldn't be happening.

Maybe a solution that would benefit everyone is for people to not just post an ebook, but take the time to read it, understand it, and recommunicate it here in the form of ideas.

Well, I don't know crap about running a forum but I will take the real money making information over all of the crap DL's any day. When I first came to BHW I downloaded everything I could find. Then something wonderful happend, I got a virus and had to reformat my hard drive. Now instead of reading the "best new ebook" or tinkering with the "greatest new script" I'm making money! It is hard to keep focused with 250GB of crap to sift trough.

Maybe if we required a member to be Jr. VIP or admin approved to post to the members downloads we wouldn't get so much crap in there and we could trust the DL's available would have at least some valuable info.

We could still make it available to all members to view but there wouldn't be so many repost and junk stuff drowning out the quality post.

Sucks about the virus, but, yeah, you got it right. The information overload on the new members is bad enough, throw in all the DLs for redundant or useless stuff and it gets that much worse.

Please define a noob.
Is there a certain number of posts to qualify not being a noob?
Is a noob defined by the length of time since joining BHW?
Or is a noob defined by the Blacknoob title under the member's name?

I notice that some of the "older" posters on this thread have only been here since late 2007, and that some who have been here same amount of time as myself are down on 'noobs' as well. We have all been noobs at one time.

<snip>

So, it was OK for you - but now you don't think it's OK for anyone else?

I'm 100% in agreement with Wizgizmo on this. There's a whole attitude of 'holier than thou' from a lot of people who are only posting their "let's do away with DLs etc." because they think that's the "right" thing to do.

I don't see a lot of useful posts from those guys. There are some quality posts in this forum. There's also a lot of dross. There are some ebook downloads that people ask for which are crap. But they won't know that until they read them. And who is to judge? If you learn one thing from a crap ebook then that's one thing you'd otherwise not have known.

Can we cut the hypocrisy?

It's fairly obvious that the DL section is found valuable by a lot of members here. By all means cut it and become a small community of people examining each others arses. Because from the tone of a lot of the posts here that's exactly what would happen.

I don't give a toss about VIP ego trips. I'm here to exchange views and gather useful information. I'm quite happy to help out people who post a question that I can answer (although I may not be able to answer all that many). But I think that shrinking this forum in the way that some people have suggested would kill it.

Gud, it is a state of mind for some. The key to remember is that everyone is still a noob in some fashion. Once someone knows it all they can walk from the UK to Norway.

Bear, this has been an ongoing conversation, in various forms, for a while, 4 to 6 months anyway. Back then I was struggling to get a 21 rep so I could see attachments, and I still agreed with people on not wanting this to become a warez site. So, have my thoughts about this forum changed since I was shiny new? Nope, not on this. For all your crying about VIP egos maybe you should know that these same people have had this same stance since their post counts were tiny, less than 100 like you.

The reason I think you are wrong PB is that tools are useless without knowing how to use them for the best advantage. While you can download a hammer, and you can pound in that screw, getting a screwdriver would be far better. This forum, from previous conversations, is about using the tools, not getting the tools themselves.

So it would not kill the forum, it would clean it up, but kill it, no. You may leave, but, someone would replace you.
