Everyone read this and comment

Well, my sig that I made shortly after I joined summs up my feelings on this. The tools are okay but the info has been priceless to me.

It's has been cyclic, like everything else, but each time the forum loses it's focus it is worse than the previous time.

As far as admins/mods go, EC and the crew are doing a bang up job, but they can not be on here 25/7. Dave and Harro both check in, but they are busy. I think the crew could stand to be bigger, giving more coverage. People like apekill, smitty, and troph are just three examples of people that would be good additions to the staff, in my opinion.

Membership may dip, right now 2/3rds of the people in the BH SEO section are in downloads, but, for those warez hunters lost new members will replace them.

Yes unfortunatley lately me and Dave cant be around as much as we have projects to deal with. But we do check in on a daily basis, atleast more than once or five times :)

I know I haven't been coming around as much because of all the 4 post newbies asking for the next "Mad Ducats Overnight" ebook in broken english. The quality has gone down.

Great Post Harro!

Cleaning house is never a bad idea. I've only been here a short time, but I can tell you something as a fact. The first hand experiences of members who are successful are much more important than some ebook or program that someone out there is selling. I've taken ideas and tutorials and made money from them, but haven't even looked at one ebook or simliar program.

We, as the members is where the value of this forum is. If you can learn one way of making money from just 50 of the members here, then you will be really rich a year from now.

Harro,

I certainly appreciate the time and effort that you, and the other moderators put into this place.

I first found out about BHW when I was doing a google search for a product I wanted to pick up. At the time, the members download section was being indexed by google, and you didn't have to be signed into the forum to read threads there. I got what I wanted, and bookmarked the site to come back to.

When I came back, I started reading around in the other sections, and liked what I read enough to sign up. Sure, I went on a little downloading spree when I signed up, but after that I made sure to read the other sections of the forum. I joined the irc channel after seeing a post about it. I read a lot of great information being talked about the "regular" sections of the board. I ended up buying some things from the BST section. Since then, I haven't really been in the downloads section. Mostly because I know the things posted in there are kind of crap, but also because I'm busy acting on the information I picked up out of the "regular" threads, along with the stuff from the BST section.

If it wasn't for the download section, I never would have found this place, and knowing about it now, that would be sad. I really like this place, there's some great people here that think along the same lines that I do. I don't have many posts, and that's because I'm mostly reading, learning, and implementing right now. I hope that in the future I'll be able to give back to those in my situation right now.

I know everyone is not like me. I consider myself to be above average intelligence, and have some social tact. Some people just want to come and download what the want, and don't care about anything else. Some poeple are just R Tards and they're the "1 and 2 post wonders" that come in here asking for things. Well, all I can really say to that is: their loss. If they can't see the value in this place past the download section, then it's their loss.

So what is the happy medium between the two? I have no idea unfortunately, and I certainly wouldn't want to be in the position to figure out what it is. I've got enough on my plate as it is! It's your forum, and you'll do what you think is best, I just wanted to throw in a comment from the other side. I hope to be a valuable member here, and I never would have found the place where it not for the download section in the first place.

Anyways, this is a great place guys, keep it up! Off to read a few more threads and then get some things done!

Agree with above said, this is my favorite place too.
Harro, I fully agree with you.

Concerning "warez".... I don't care if somebody shares some warez stuff here.
Most of the "guru" stuff is an old rehashed crap... or not always crap, but old stuff.

The most dangerous weapon we have is inside our brains... :)

The downloads are good, but they can be gotten from the warez sites. Make a post on the best places to get the stuff, and detail on the google hack. and let people get it themselves. [teach them to fish]

OR, if you share something you have to show how you make bank with the product [screenshots and everything]. That will keep the info flowing with the sharing.

just some thoughts

Yeah i think Harro is right about doing something about those leeches that only come here to grab stuff and then leave, so it attracts new members but honestly do you want these members that don't contribute anything at all, if it was my choice i would make newbies make at least 50 posts before getting access to that section. (well if it really was my choice i would move it to the jr vip section)

For the rest i think this is a great place to learn new stuff, i have done lost a reading and learning here (yes even a old dog can learn new tricks :) ) and i hope it stays this way, because BHW is a great place to hang out and be part of.

Greetings To All My Fellow B-Hatters!

I agree with much that is being said in this thread, however most of you know me by the huge posts of download links that I have placed on this forum.

I must explain first that I have NEVER asked for anything on this forum, and since I am not experienced enough yet to post informative threads like those of Harro's, Wealthy199, etc. I felt that, at least I could offer links to useful downloads as a way of giving back for all the great information I have accumulated from those posts. However, if in any way I am being perceived by the senior members as someone who is causing people to be distracted from the real value of this forum, then please, Harro, or Diamond Dave, PM me and I will gladly refrain from posting any more download links.

Incidently, a couple of days ago, I created a post on the forum called "Confessions of a Download Junkie"

http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/blackhat-lounge/17279-wizgizmos-confessions-download-junkie.html

In my post, I tell of my own experience and give a gentle warning to people who might easily get caught up in endless downloading, yet never take action to implement any ideas. Also in my post, I emphasize how important it is for people to read, learn, and put into action, some of the great information made available by the more experienced members of this forum.

I value BHW, and I care only about being a valued member. So if I am doing ANYTHING which may be considered a liability to BHW, please inform me, and I will immediately make corrections.

Sincerely - Your Friend - "WizGizmo"

I agree wholeheartedly!! Warez need to go out. This was never a warez forum and shouldn't turn into one.

I agree with boomer and other members here, Warez is not the way to go, this is an awsome forum and I love reading here. :)

Cheers...

I think we need more regulations in regards to spam posts like "thank for the share" and "pm me" type posts. I know we already have a rule in place for it but I really haven't seen it implemented

I couldn't agree with this more. There seems to be way too much of this type of posting going on. This is a really cheap and lazy way to boost post counts. Just use the damn "Thanks" button.

Sure, having access to programs for free is great, but the majority of the stuff being offered is crap anyways. The methods discussed are the real money makers, which will keep this forum growing stronger and stronger. This is one of a couple forums that I actually visit and read, and I almost always skip over most of the download stuff and head straight for the the money making threads.

You're on the right track with this one Harro! Keep up the good work!

I've only been on here a couple of months but even I have noticed in the last few weeks that it seems to be turning into more of a warez type place. I've learned a lot here and I am beginning to profit from it. I appreaciate the chance to learn new marketing techniques and will share my thoughts when I think they can help. Most of the things I've learned are from the helpful members on here, not the warez or ebooks, although some of them have been extremely useful. Just wanted to say thanks and looking forward to an even better forum in the future.

Most of the stuff in the download section is shit, but i like browsing through it and sometimes finding something useful. I think having a limited amount of posts before you can start a thread in there may help, however like others have said it might create people posting useless info just to get their numbers up.

I have only been signed up to this forum for a couple weeks but I have been browsing it for a few months.. over the last few months I have noticed there is less and less talk about blackhat, money making, etc and more and more BS - Drama.

I would prefer if we saved the warez for either IRC, torrents, warez forums, etc and keep this place more oriented towards making money/blackhat.

Thanks for the useful thread and hope it makes BHW turn for the better!

Hello All,

After a long, long time of lurking around, downloading every single solitary Ebook, Audio Series, Software Fad, and Quick fix under the sun I decided to clean out my Hard Drive. This bullshit literally took over my life, I spent my days reading all of those crappy ebooks (granted a few were good) and my regular business was affected a great deal by this. After a long battle with information overload I deleted all of that bullshit, and I kept only what I felt I should focus on. After deleting 90% of what I accumulated I finally started to learn and make some real money.

I am now personally ready to make this forum a better place, I am done lurking and I am going to begin listening, and even helping others battle through the problems I dealt with early on.

I totally agree with you Harro and you are 100% on point about this place taking a wrong turn. I fell right into that trap also and I turned into a Warez collector as opposed to an Internet Marketer. The best part about this forum is having such dedicated admins and moderators to catch shit like this. I love free stuff as much as the next guy but the advice given here is literally 10 times more valuable than even 1000 crappy tools combined. Let's make this forum an even better place than it already was!

To Everyones Success,
Jeff

When does the marketing live up to the hype? How many times have you been tempted to buy something, then found it on this sight, and discovered it was the load of crap that you knew deep down you would be. If you are serious about making $$, learn the basic about list building, PPC, making landing pages, or whatever your niches require, and instead of trolling for downloads that often never get read, read the wisdom of guys posting here like Harro, Nevarc (the tracking ads post was awesome), dejacrew, etc etc, *implement what you learn*, and watch the bank roll in. If you read one quality post on this board today and implement it, it will absolutely mean bank in your pocket tomorrow. Steer clear of downloading yet another eBook. While they sometimes give you a little something to help you along, you'll always learn more and make more by implementing IM and building your empire. Seize the moment and slay the dragon!

Thanks, Harro - many thanks and +1 rep to you (as if you needed it).
