hey guys. so i've trying some footprints like {brand-name} -site:affiliate-brand-name.com and finding some cool domains with 25/100+ root domains and an average 20+ TF for a buck. now when these domains are all clean - it's all good right? but... sometimes i find some domains that are really good offsite (links and anchors are good) but have been spammed onsite (random content added to them). wait for it...

just curious to understand if...you have bought an expired domain (that was spammed onsite) but still you tested it out. i've seen cases where the previous two owners of the domain spammed it onsite so, why did the second fella bought the domain? newbie or knows something that i dont?

imagine, backlinks are good; anchors are good but as the website is not plugged to the server one doesnt know if that domain has actually been deindexed or just given up...

as the negative footprint is onsite, have you ever bought into a scenario like this one and what was the impact? you gave it a go and restored it with the old content? are the chances 50/50 of being worth something or you've tried and even though the domain got indexed the impact was not great?

if the impact is low maybe i can test it to see if it indexes on google and if it does maybe just using it to point to a web 2.0 or an expired domain linking to my money site? donno - just trying to see if i can/should recycle them considering it isnt much work/cost to revive them.

thanks in advance

I bought one such auctioned domain - pretty good backlinks, no spammy anchors, but was build as Chinese PBN for sometime. Its indexed, no manual penalty, but still didn't build an PBN to test if the links are giving any juice.

This is very common with most of the domains. If they are indexed at least partially, then they might work, however, there's no guarantee they will. Last week I've talked to one member here who had domains indexed and then deindexed within a few weeks, even prior to linking out to money site for some reason. These domains had a bad content history. I was trying to pin down the reason why has this happened and I haven't found anything wrong with how the PBN was built, except the bad history of the domains. Like really bad. History might have nothing to do with the fact that the domains were deindexed, but that's the thing with this kind of domains. You simply do not know. They might work, they might not work, they might even be toxic. They are surely nothing I would use for a long term project.

i guess i will test it out :) thanks chaps
