I used this method with cheap and expensive items. Both for ebay and mostly non ebay items alike. Works both ways.

Okay and all that needs to be done is checkout as a guest? what credit card do you use? a personal one or a vcc? when you say expensive how expensive? $1k?

I have always used my own personal credit cards, when you have a banned pp acct. And a site only accepts pp through cc I have used this on numerous occasions. The important part is to use a phone and email that you have never used with pp before or it will always get declined. If you use this method it will work every time.
