Does anyone feel this way?
Like... you can't feel anything anymore, you are not sad nor happy, you just nothing... no thoughts 99% at the time.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to change anything , I love it...Giving fucks gets tiring, getting hurt gets tiring, feeling like shit gets tiring...

it's very complicated to explain but getting rid of overthinking is a major achievement for me,.
all this combined with reading some books about the way of living or psychology makes me feel great, stoicism was a great inspiration.

Some years you feel like that, some you don't.

I think we are too complicated to just say "I am like this, I feel this".

Because one year later you realise you feel so different.

It's why goals are important, they are fixed elements which makes us move forward despite short term emotionnal states or short term desires.

I remember the light being sucked out of my days man, really is just part of realising you're actually living in my opinion. To put it further, I used the fear of emotionally numb days to motivate progress.

It's your view on things, you could see it as the end of a good time or the start of working for a good time.

Gotta make your good time...

Yup. Back in high school and the first few years of college. It’s a natural response to want to not feel anything anymore once you’ve hit a certain threshold for pain.

You should. Feelings don’t just involve getting hurt and feeling like shit. Feeling positive things in life are a blessing and it’s my opinion that everyone should open themselves up to happiness. It may take a while for you to create an environment that has more positive stimuli than negative but keep working at it.

Life isn’t worth living if you’re not feeling things. One of my goals is to create a life for myself where there’s more happiness than sadness. I can’t have 0% sadness, anger etc but I can sure work towards lowering it’s significance.

I have been like this for some time now but don't really know what to say...
It's not like I am forcing myself to be this way, it just happens naturally.
By the way, great to see you back around here. You are a cool guy that I like, wish you a happy new year.
Happy new year to you too Mr fish

I was like this. Then I tried to kill myself several times over my life. Someone wasn't letting me die and once I figured out who everything changed. But we aren't allowed to discuss that here. Hope you feel better :)

I just feel at peace this way
Let me clarify something, I just feel emotionally numb towards people, like... I don't feel anything, I don't want to talk, It's not like they don't have a place in my life,i don't enjoy it, I have no interest.
I enjoy my space, enjoy looking out the bus window, enjoy walking, etc but I just don't want people around...they ruin my peace, I know I kinda described an introverted guy, but I am not...
I don't even want my closest people around anymore...

naah mate , sad to hear you wanted to do that at some point in your life, but I love my life as it is and haven't even thought of that, not even once...

Try to focus to thoughts you want, as someone said a negative thought can ruin life, it a cycle, Negative thought< Emotional Imbalance< Disconnection. Positive thought<inspired<connection. force yourself for once everyday, just once talk to random stranger on the internet :)

Adopting a positive mindset does help, but structure will help you as well. Set mini-goals and mini-rewards for yourself. Then make the goals larger.

We all get in a funk. Especially in our industry. Good luck, brother.

I also had very dark thoughts previously in my life, I think we are allow to speak about this if we keep it in the right direction.

But people who have these types of struggles should understand something that really helped me move forward...

Suicide is a definitive solution to a short-medium term problem.

2 years later your life could be the complete opposite of what it was, in couple, have a nice lifestyle. The wheel always turn at some point if you keep focusing on the right things !

I don't really understand you.. Do you want to feel emotions?

This is pretty normal towards your parents, siblings, especially when you've been living with them for many years.

You already have an idea about people so you know what to expect and it's not something you're interested in.

Better start a life of your own, cut the unnecessary relationships and only invite people into your life when they really interest you.

This is why you separate ambition, goals, and feelings.
That way no matter how you feel you can increase in learning and attain whatever goal.
As Willy said, nice to see you around Sardi.

Keeping myself busy gets rid of all the clutter
Literally no room for overthinking

apathy
do you have a aim?

you need a aim to give meaning to your time alive

I think most of us who work alone have felt this way. I follow a simple rule in my life, I divide my time between 2 things, one that makes me money, another that makes me happy. You need to do things that stimulate your emotions and senses.
Go out, make friends, pick up hobbies, travel around. Give importance to your mental health when you're young.

A similar feeling (lack of emotions) happened to me, naturally as well.

I think it's great if you can control it and manipulate it to your advantage. The pros of this character are that you can have an objective perspective when dealing with people, which will help you achieve your goals faster than most will. You can judge a person, situation, or problem impartially, without getting involved personally and having to deal with emotions. This way, you can remove all the clutter that prevents you from reaching your goals.

The danger lies when you sometimes miss out on experiences that are crucial for your general fulfillment and well-being. What helped me was letting my emotions go wild in rare cases when they showed up. I would dwell on them instead of discarding them, analyzing them, and figuring out why I reacted the way I did. This helped me tremendously to develop self-assurance, acceptance, and introspection. But you can only get to experience those emotions through exposure to new things.

It's an arduous but very rewarding road.

Isn't that the goal to pretty much all of us? The tough part is actually achieving it. The even harder one is when you achieve it, how do you sustain it? The only permanent thing is change.
