Emotionally Numb.

A similar feeling (lack of emotions) happened to me, naturally as well.

I think it's great if you can control it and manipulate it to your advantage. The pros of this character are that you can have an objective perspective when dealing with people, which will help you achieve your goals faster than most will. You can judge a person, situation, or problem impartially, without getting involved personally and having to deal with emotions. This way, you can remove all the clutter that prevents you from reaching your goals.

The danger lies when you sometimes miss out on experiences that are crucial for your general fulfillment and well-being. What helped me was letting my emotions go wild in rare cases when they showed up. I would dwell on them instead of discarding them, analyzing them, and figuring out why I reacted the way I did. This helped me tremendously to develop self-assurance, acceptance, and introspection. But you can only get to experience those emotions through exposure to new things.

It's an arduous but very rewarding road.
Definitely agree with you.

Isn't that the goal to pretty much all of us? The tough part is actually achieving it. The even harder one is when you achieve it, how do you sustain it? The only permanent thing is change.
Every one of us has a different definition of happiness.
for example, if you say "I need to go to the moon and then I will be happy'' then you most likely will never be happy...
The less it takes you to feel happy the better, happiness is not something you can sustain, happiness is like drugs, if you don't take them, you won't feel the effect.
If you can feel happy or at peace from nothingness then you will be emotionally unaffectable.
I Choose peace over happiness.

Ignoring the unneccessary things that gives you anger/unhappiness and appreciating the things that makes you feel alive/happy. Go out to the nature and just feel and experience the beauty without all the other bullshit. 99% of the things in the world doesn't matter anyway. This is also one of the reasons why I stopped watching news. Like in the Matrix, this system is made to keep your mind busy, full of illusions and things that doesn't matter or make you happy.

I don’t think it’s tough. As long as you’re honest with yourself and your expectations. The answer to every question you stated is what makes the journey of life interesting. I wouldn’t want my life to be any other way. I like working towards changing each and every aspect of my life.

8 years ago I was a nobody. Didn’t have friends and wasn’t emotionally mature enough to appreciate family. I couldn’t see past the trivialities of high school and never ever saw the positive aspect of life.

A year ago, I was a broke college student who took his anger out on loved ones. A year later, I’ve graduated, am far better off in terms of money and have begun appreciating things that I used to take for granted. I’ve also been blessed with a career irl that makes changes in people’s lives.

I can’t imagine being born into a life where everything I want now has already been gifted to me. I like the chase and I’m definitely growing to be the person that embraces change. Change is exciting. Change is life.

A lot of people may not resonate with my experience since we’ve got people from all walks of life here (including those that’ve been incarcerated, abused etc i.e. those that actually have a reason to complain). I’ve also been blessed with having good mentors that guided me in the right directions. @OldSalt for instance took the time to guide me in the right path when I was an angsty teen. I still text him on Skype hoping he comes back online some day as I’d really like to meet that dude irl and buy him a beer. Then there’s Dennis (the owner of AWM) who took a risk by believing in me 4 years ago when I was just a rando who had no credibility and no name. These are folks worth their weight in gold and growing up in a neighbourhood where most guys my age get imprisoned rather than going to college, I owe a huge portion of my accomplishments to them. I’ve gone off track from the discussion but it would’ve been incredibly wrong on my part not to mention them when I’m talking about my experience with depression, rage and pathological apathy. I only hope that one day I can make the same difference in the life of some other lost soul the same way these guys made a change in mine.

TLDR ; Life will change. Just keep hanging in there and one day you’ll thank yourself for persevering and will be proud of the decisions you’ve made today.

In the times of turmoil that we live in, one would say that peace is happiness, right?

That can be done without a grand gesture you know. But I see your point here. When you think about it, we were all beginners at first, no experience, no nothing. Someone took a chance with us, it was a risk for them but they did it. More people should do that, if that happens people won't be stuck in this weird loop of freshly graduated with no experience but to get a job you need experience.

PS: Junior position should damn junior, I've seen too many junior positions that could easily pass for senior.

Kind of.
As I said, Happiness is a very subjective thing.
''We all seek happiness in order to reach this state again and again. The excitement of a roller coaster notwithstanding, it is the equilibrium between the crests and troughs that strikes the balance for us in life.
Happiness seeks company; peace is content with aloneness. Happiness is young, frolicking, and mindless; peace is older, mature, and more mindful. Happiness that lasts can lead to a blissful state of mind that would be akin to peace.

Peace is a feeling of nothingness, all desire spent good or bad. One looks outwards and towards others to seek happiness, but peace can only be achieved when you look inwards. You cannot achieve peace without understanding your own self and your motivators.''

took these from an article as I couldn't put it in words myself...

I don't think that's really healthy. Maybe you should talk to a professional instead of sharing something like this on a forum. Also, maybe more than one professional. Good luck!

As long as I feel great and my life is in balance, I don't need a professional.

I am curious to know what is healthy according to you...

I don't know about emotionally numb, but I quite often go through my NFI node = Not Fucking Interested.

This comes in when you meet idiots online who you really can't be arsed speaking to because you don't want to lower yourself and also because you know if you were face to face with them, you'd rip their throat out.

@Sardi i get you been there.

Even now i'm in a bit of simular state but maybe for diferente reasons. Right now (before new year) separated from a relationship of 2 years living together with a girl and her little daughter (that i see has my own).

One thing i been feeling is nothing for almost anyone around me don't know if its because of disapointment in people or whatever and this past months just took so much peace of mind that i now just want to be alone and at peace.

But when i feel like this do to someone else, not being where i want to be in life, job, feeling i'm going backwards, relationship, physical, social, money or whatever i just set my goals, motivate myself, see the beauty in life, the things, animals, people that i want in my life, get out of my comfort zone and just chase after my dreams.

Life will throw so many things at you but you always have choices to deal with it. Sit and do nothing, take action to change, go after what you want or just let life pass by and be in your comfort zone.

I think golden touch give some solid advice i would just add go have new experiences and try to socialize more

I actually think its positive to realize that you don't feel anything. Its part of the journey to a very elevated emotional existence.
