Do you think Google would push you down in the SERPs a bit because of something like this?

Say your URL is 'www.cheapsofas.com' and you wanted to rank the homepage for 'cheap sofas'. You want to rank loads of other pages for related LSI KWs to 'cheap' like pages for 'value sofas' and 'budget sofas'. Say your URLs are:

www.cheapsofas.com/value
www.cheapsofas.com/budget

Because in the URL you now have both cheap and budget which are interchangable to google, do you think that with a number of these pages they would push you down a little?

Cheers

No, they wouldn't push you down. I have a dating website doing that exact same methodology and the site's top 5 for 90% of its keywords.

Probably not just for that, if the site is spammy overall, including excessive and repeating keywords in URL, then yes, it probably would, but not just for that.

Nice one, thank you.
