Hey

I am running a small business through email marketing. I am doing cold emailing B2C and there is demand for what I am selling. I shoot some emails and I get people interested in what I am selling but then later when it is time to deliver they just dont respond. I try to follow up and they don't respond.

When I email them the first time they want what I am selling but then they just ghost me.

There is a lot of potential in what I am doing but I am hitting a roadblock.

Any suggestions BHW?
Should I like send them a link to a payment gateaway right away after I explain to them what they will get?
Am I doing something wrong or missing something here?

No - you should wait for their reply until they shows some sort of interest then move forward.

I do wait for their reply and when they reply to the first email and show interest and want what I am offering I tell them I will get to work on that then I never hear from them again

I would suggest calling your leads that reply to your cold emails on the phone and having a genuine conversation with them as oppose to relying on email as your sole method of communication. You can still use email to find the leads, but I always found in my experience that talking to a client on the phone really helps build trust and thus more end up converting into paid clients.

Maybe take a step back and analyze your sales funnel as a whole. Is there something along the line that is raising red flags to your potential clients? If they are completely ghosting you it seems like their trust is dropping off somewhere.

Underrated comment....and the only possible way to answer to this question, otherwise you are spamming.... and if you are spamming then you need to talk about emailing in volume meaning millions of emails and then the question you are asking lacks any validity.... because with spamming ghosting is part of the strategy, that is why you go to such high volumes.. otherwise it happens what it is happening to you (and probably 98% of the people who follows this "email marketing" path) they get a random set of emails (buying it, scrapping it, etc..) so they the list is small enough to not make any impact as spam would do BUT it does not have any targeting when it was build up so your response rate is low and you finish in the BHW asking this questions in the middle of the road between real marketing and real spamming.

Don't follow up, that lower your value.
You can send them an email that asks them to book a call with you, then you close there. it'll be more efficient.

Rinse and repeat with another offer. Or maybe you are no longer hitting inbox.
