Email blast app

Yes, you can create your own smtp, but you should check first with your host because many block port 25.
I use hostinger, 25 is open.

Well this is a nice surprise.
I actually tried to find someone on fiverr to install my VPS and set up Mautic.... and ll they talked about is how I should buy SMTP from them (sendgrid, elasticmail, etc).

I actually learned a shitload of new stuff by doing this on my own.
Will make a tutorial if a manage to set up everything.

Any advice will be apreciated.

Thanks!

Another update, after a long chat with hostinger agent, I killed that VPS and got a refund. Hostinger allow maximum 5 emails per minute, even if I use my own transport (smtp). And if spam rate is high, they might ban my ass.

So, i got contabo vps (much better deal by the way).
Mautic is ready, smtp is ready. I am starting the warmup tomorrow.

Now, I may be missing something here but I am not sure why would someone pay a shitload of money to mailchimp or similar services. This solution will cost me 12 bucks per month for the server. Mautic and smtp relay are open source. I do have some limitations and I do neet to use a warmup, but if I get results as bad as on mailerlite, I am still saving a lot of money at least.

Wish me luck.

P.S. I know there are a lot of people here that are doing this for a long time and may not know why am I so excited about this setup... but for me, terminal was a science fiction couple of days ago and today I deployed everything through ssh. Amazing what you can learn when you are pushed to the corner.

Contabo will ban you as well, probably faster than Hostinger. You should have just used Hostinger as long as possible. I doubt they check outgoing rate of emails on VPS. I dont even think this is possible without packet inspection and I doubt they do this.

I chose contabo because I have a friend who is using them exacly like this, just using mailwizz instead of mautic.
He has been doing this for years and never had an issue. His list is 100k.

They allow 25 email per minute, port 25 is open by default. My list is quite clean and they receive my emails on regular basis, so I think it will be fine. Will update if something happens.

If the list is yours, use something standard like MailChimp, getresponse, aWaber....

If the list is not yours, then use your own SMTP server or an other solution that is good for cold mailing
I got a few large email lists that i want to send mails to. Theyre not mine, but are active and targeted. I got 0 experience in email marketing though. Can u help me ?

You can still signup for Mumara ONE free plan and see how it goes. Excellent analytics and also engagement tracking.

Hey ecomgoat999,

Eager to hear about your results so far as I am in a similar pickle. We used Mailchimp with some "hacks" and used to get consistent open rates for years, until they suspended our account. We have been struggling ever since.

Well, the results are bad. I am running a warmup, my list is clean, everything is in place. Open rate 2-3%.
I am killing this project and switching to Shopify Email. I will be doing a manual warmup (50, 50, 100, 100, 200, 200, 400, 400, etc).

Sorry to hear that. We tried setting up our own server as well but that didn't work for us either. Have never tried shopify, I'll have a look at it. Thank you and good luck!

Hello, thanks for sharing this post. I'm inspired to try a bit of email marketing again. Will you update us on the journey still? Not a nubie really, lol, just rusty, but I thought you didn't want to use shopify email. Or you were with icloud? Somehow? Would you explain? Now you are going to again but without icloud? Would I need an iPhone for this? We have Samsung. Thanks for posting again.

OP I am in a similar position.

I have 100k+ emails built up in a specific niche that I want to use for a business I’m creating.

I want to use these emails, but they haven’t directly opted in and I can’t use platforms such as Brevo.

Currently, I’m using hostdel for cold email marketing. Open rates are low 1-2% but it is off a new reputation. Over time I’m going to try and build this reputation specifically for my brand and see how it goes.

Still looking into more opportunities though, signed up for a free trial at Apollo.io and will try that out too.
How are the results with hostdel?

Hey mate you can buy a bunch of $1 domains and use their smtp to send your campaign through an emailing software. Just send 10-20 email per day per domain at the begining to warm your smtp's. With A lot of domains you can send a pretty good amount of emails per day, and this will increase week by week. $1 per domain per year is also very cheap so you can buy a lot of them. Good luck
