hey im looking to get my website redesigned and wondering whether i should have it done with elementor or wordpresses gutenburg editor, ive heard that elementor is worse for SEO, but cant find many people willing to do it with the gutenburg editor as elementor is much more popular, will it make much of a difference if i just go for elementor?

FSE much better, but Elementor will do OK. For SEO both are completely irrelevant.

Between both, I would prefer Elementor for sure
It won't affect the SEO of your website

Elementor it's really good and I think it's better for seo, because they have many features.
And also you can do something with elementor without plugins, like add social share button.

I personally like Elementor. Elementor seems to work fine. It is user friendly and can easily create any design desired

I think if Elementor works you can build your desired website in less time

Elementor is great.
Especialy if you are not technical
I started doing website for client from BHW in GatbsyJS
and now switched to Elementor.
Client will be non technical and this is the biggest problem. You need to make sure, every guy who will need to manage it, he can handle himself.

See if you can replicate the same design and layout without using a page builder and go with it.

Strive away from traditional page builders, they are a pain in the long run when it comes to performance.

Personally, this would be my top choice:
I had Generate Press, compared to elementor, it's sucks
Generate Press is great to create rapid fast blogs for SEO.
But forget about making stunning landing pages for example for SaaS.

Since you use Gutenberg in GeneratePress, what is stopping you from making stunning landing pages on it?

Time ;) with elementor is drag and drop awesome widgets that someone spent hundreds of hours to prepare them ;)

Not a fan of Elementor, much prefer Framer. I did a ton of research on which website builder is best to use and landed on Framer. My first choice was WebFlow, but not a great option for low code and quick website building if you don't have some kind of background in CSS/HTML and website building. I have been able to build a few super sexy and lightweight websites with framer in under a day with just some basic understanding of graphic design and HTML knowledge from a decade ago, and if there's anything you need to customize you can just hire someone off upwork for a few dollars to make your vision come to life.

Best option is to host with GoDaddy or some other Service and do your website building with your favorite website editor. Elementor seems attractive with their all in one hosting and editing, but it's not very customizable and their hosting service is not good for a lot of reasons. Plus, Framers SEO out of the box is beast.

So in reality, knowledge is stopping you then, not GeneratePress itself.

I've had great luck with Elementor and haven't noticed SEO issues caused by it, I'm curious what specifically you hear wrt Elementor hurting SEO?

Did you also hear the reasons why Elementor is worse for SEO, or did you just hear that it's worse without any explanation?

Myths, like 99% info in SEO/BHW world.
Similar like you need proxies for social medias xD

Google actualy explained that elementor and divi are not worse than anything else.

I would suggest go with a block theme and use the FSE. My website is on Kadence theme + FSE. I have heard good things about GeneratePress + FSE

I tried to use wp editor, but elemntor is much more intuitive
What I did in the beginning was copy individual sections from various Kadence prebuilt websites. Then I modified those to accommodate my needs. But I agree at first the FSE is a bit complicated, but over time I made it work.

For SEO ensure you have proper HTML segmentation. I use bricks instead of WP or Elementor which is just div inside div inside div

I would go with Elementor, I'm always using Elementor when making a website.
