I recently bought a 5TB HDD to store some private content, aka the content you receive after texting your girl "Sand Dunes"

I don't want Sundar Pichai or Satya Nadela to be looking at my girl's tatas

A few months later....
MS probably did some bullshit update or rollout.
My old university decided to retract ALL past student's/alumni's MS Office Suite.
Now strictly only providing it to "current students" only.
@Willyfish, imma repeat this again, MS is lame !

My Legitimate EDU account just lost like 80% of it's value.

All you guys recommending storing everything on physical HDD. This is great advice.

But remember, if the HDD dies or whatever, you lose it all.

Personally, as life progressed i bought one external HDD, then another, then another. In the end i went and i bought one thats like 8TB or something, and i use the other smaller ones that i have as backups.

So ny main 8TB HDD is the one thats a second away from being plugged in my lap top.

But them i have 3 HDDs in a drawer, and they all have the same content as the main 8TB HDD. This is a sort of a backup for me.

So dont forget to have some sort of backup. Because 1 HDD, once it goes, its gone man, gone with all your porn and shit.

I lost an SSD before while travelling
I lost photos due to a MircoSD Card corrupting
Physical storage is just not worth honestly for me
I know it way too well

I'm doing pretty good currently with a mix of google storage + proton storage.
Probably swap google sub over to MS again since i need office license again

Appreciate the thoughts but that's probably the silliest idea I ever heard.
Why would you store important stuff you want to keep on something you have zero control over, something you could lose at any point in time.
Something pretty much on the borderline of the grey lines.

Agree with you. Not good for personal data, but if someone wants to keep the courses downloaded from here and there, then it can be a good choice.
