EFF YOU GOOGLE

Agree with you. Not good for personal data, but if someone wants to keep the courses downloaded from here and there, then it can be a good choice.
Definitely for sure !

I lost an SSD before while travelling
I lost photos due to a MircoSD Card corrupting
Physical storage is just not worth honestly for me
I know it way too well

I'm doing pretty good currently with a mix of google storage + proton storage.
Probably swap google sub over to MS again since i need office license again

Ok bro. Fair enough bro.

But that's why I said, have them stored and backed up too.

It's unlikely you'll lose the hard drive traveling, and at the same time the hard drive you have at home (which has the same data in it) in your drawer gets corrupted.

It's 99% bulletproof :p

Me too! What a coincidence huh!? Not!

I really think those xray scanners at the airports are not that good for your electronics devices but little do i know :p

Oh, yummy yummy !!! Now, I LOVE GOOGLE (with thanks exclusively for OP only).

Like I said....I had 2 hard drives fail and lost everything. I wouldn't chance it if you value your data.....

So you're telling me that the one on my table here next to my lap top failed.

And then I took the one from my drawer out of its box, plugged it in the lap top, only to discovered that it failed too?

No waaaay :D

I'll buy another one, for a second backup. Done :D

My experience is a little different. I find external hard drives and USBs to be incredibly durable and reliable. In all my life, I only had one external hard drive failed, after 10+ years of owning it.

And it didn't even die in a snap. It displayed symptoms of death, which allowed me to remove all the stuff from it and empty it out.

It's just, when I was born, there was no internet. I remember that. But there was electricity, I remember that. And if we go back to that reality at any point during my life, I take out my hard drive and all my stuffs there. But you guys and your cloud business, I hope you have a plane to take you up to the clouds so you can get your stuff :p

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5D_optical_data_storageCall them up, explain the situation.

They gave one to Elon Musk to throw it out in space, I'm sure they'll give one to you to store all your d1ckpicks
