Educational Blog Failure (SEO PROBLEM) - What should I do?

I started a theoretical blog related to subjects on my degree two years ago. Now, it gets around 10000 monthly organic clicks from Google. But the problem is 80% of them are from India. And only 20% is from the USA.

I'm struggling with monetization at this point. I tried both AdSense and Ezoic, but it only generates a few bucks per month.

For India, my keywords rank on the first page. And for the USA, most of them are on the second page. Moreover, some of the pages haven't even ranked for the USA. And I don't know what kind of SEO mistake I made.

I'm feeling like this is a stupid idea now. Because I've spent days writing some of the articles. So, I'm hoping to give a pause to the site and see what will happen. Or do you have any other suggestions?

Note: No disgrace for India. I love their culture and the people. But this is about monetization.

50 articles in 2 years is less than one every two weeks. I'm assuming you started faster and lowered your pace, it tells me that you barely post any content now. Invest in keyword research based on your taget geo. See what you need to write about so you attract more US users. Where is your site hosted? If it loads faster in india, it makes sense that it performs better there.
 
Do the keywords you’re targeting have search volume in the US?

Are sites like Chegg ranking for keywords similar to yours?
 
I have the same problem but not that much traffic. Hoping to move into product reviews related to the niche. Because writing long educational articles seems useless.

If it's really profitable, all the textbook authors would publish their content on blogs.

It's actually 1 year and 7 months.

It seems less but in most cases
  1. One to two days to research
  2. One to three days to write
  3. One day to proofread and publish
Maybe I'm too slow for this. I'm a full-time student, so usually spent 6 PM to 12 AM on this project.

Maybe, it's better if I start a blog that does not need much research.

All the keywords have 100+ US search volume according to Ahrefs.

I'm not targeting questions, so not with Chegg. It's ranked among,
  • Related niche sites
  • Wikipedia
  • ScienceDirect
  • Britannica
  • .Edu sites
  • PDFs
  • Study.com
  • Academia.edu
  • Some differences between sites
 
10000/mo isn't a failure. Sell backlinks. Put a few affiliate related posts up. Sell the site. You have a few options.

You didn't get what I said. 7000 of them are from India.

12 DR is not much. DR is the main factor to sell backlinks.

No
If I could rank for the first page, I'll get decent traffic. Compared to other niches, the competition is also low.

Not all textbook authors have good sales.
 
I understood. And it still isn't a failure. My suggestion stands. Figure out a way to talk about the USA in your posts. That might give it a better chance to rank in that locale.
