DuckDuckGo is increasing at a badass rate. What's your thought. Is it going to beat google in the next couple of years?

Google is hampering our security and spy on us; on the other hand duckduckgo believes in nutrality and doesn't save our data. People are becoming more concious and are shifting towards DuckDuckGo. Check the image.

They are too small they don't have any resources and they are using bing data :)
 
It will not beat Google. Other search engines in theory need to exist due to monopoly and fair play. Even if all others go down, rest assured that there will be always "alternative" to Google even though even funded by them.
 
Google is embedded in our daily lives, we constantly use their phones and other services. When was the last time you heard someone say "I'll look that up in the encyclopedia" or "I'll duckduckdgo that".

I support duckduckgo and what it tries to do, but let's be realistic.
 
Google got android, every android smartphone comes with a Google product.

Only gov can beat them, like China did.
 
Tried it. I don't see the advantage over Google. It feels like cheating on your wife with someone that's exactly like your wife. Why'd you even consider it if there's no benefits?

Please note I'm no cheater hehehehhe. o_O

It's like everytime on Quora I have come across this answer
 
I do not think so. Google is very large and has a lot of power now so they can remove it
 
It must shorten its name first before thinking about beating Google. Make it duck.com.

Edit: seems like they bought duck.com.

DuckDuckGo's market share is pretty much non-existent, it's somewhere around 1% in the US and well below that globally. Google's is 80-90%. Just to put this into perspective, DuckDuckGo's daily search count is 30-40 Million, Google's is 5.6 Billion. Even if there's a "badass" increase as you say it, increase half percent by 100%, it's still just 1%. lol Maybe they can beat Bing/Yahoo in a couple of years, but Google? No fucking chance.

It clearly shows that Google doesn't see them as competition, because they added DuckDuckGo to Chrome as a default search engine option in March.

Google isn't going anywhere imho.
 
I guess Google does not count DuckDuckGo as a competitor yet. As soon as they see it as their competitor they will use their Merge & Acquisition method aaaaand DuckDuckGo will disappear !
