I have found a ridiculously trending item. Women's fashion niche. It has been rising for the past 2 years but is exploding right now. However, doing my kw research for the micro niche it's all big name retailers even in the long, long tail kws, Forever21, Express, Etsy, Urban outfitters etc. So ranking even on the first 2 pages seems quite difficult/nigh impossible. But the items they are ranking for are not the item the trend is going for. My question is, can targeted FB and IG ads be enough to retain a steady profit? And with the density of big retailers, will people choose to buy from an unheard of ecommerce store?

I'm just wondering if this niche could be worth targeting. I have no experience drop shipping and I'm not sure it would be sustainable without a long term SEO strategy. Can FB and IG ads be cost effective enough to support a dropshipping site in the long run?

*Edit - Forgot to mention, searching FB, there seems to be very few people (~5 or so) selling a similar product to what I am looking at. All of which seem to be actual producers of their item and not doing any marketing at all.

Your best bet is to do micro tests on FB and IG to check if it converts

How do you go about your micro tests? How would you recommend I go about that without buying a domain/hosting?

If doing dropshipping + FB ads, you need somewhere for them to buy the product from you, so you need hosting (shopify, woocommerce etc), domain is provided by those ecommerce platforms so a private domain name is optional.

Micro test an ad on FB with split testing, i.e. ads competing against each other with one variable changed, to see if your ads catch, and if so which one works best.
