working online is good for introverts (like me). Those who are not that much in networking and meeting and talking on phone etc. can just keep their head down and keep working, look at their money and maybe smile (I can't do that part right now lol)

who said people working online don't meet people.
We do all the things like the others but to become successful, we don't care about some small sacrifice in our fun.
People might think that we are losers and have no self-esteem but the reality is we are trying hard to reach a level that no other person can imagine.

Alway at home? Alone? Working online allows me basically to work wherever and whenever I want. I can travel the world, take my MacBook to any beach I want and work from there. I couldn't sit in front of the PC at home the whole day. Go outside mate :)

People are overrated, and friends are problems. As someone once said, friends are like albatrosses on your neck.

And to socialize, for what? To talk shit? Verbal diarrhea? Fuck all. Socializing rarely leads to any discussions of substance anyway. And all these rules to socializing, get the fuck out of here. Can't say this, can't say that, shouldn't talk about that, be PC, be diplomatic.

    Kiss, My, Ass!!!

    With all due respect :)

I actually used to be depressed working a normal job, being an entrepreneur working from a computer is way better imo.
    1. I can actually earn as much as I want, I'm not limited to an hourly wage
    2. I can get out of the house whenever I feel like it, people with "normal jobs" can't usually just leave and do whatever they want
    3. I can travel the world whenever I feel like it since my money isn't depending on a "normal job"
    4. I can choose who I want to deal with on a regular basis instead of being forced to deal with coworkers I don't like
    5. I can spend quality time with good friends, ladies, or family since I don't work many hours
    6. I can stay up super late and party, watch horror movies, go out, chill with girls, explore, etc, since I can wake up whenever I want to
Sure you can just tap out of society if you're working on a computer, but it's a choice. There are people with normal jobs who also tap out of society. I think it's really just up to you and what makes you happy. For me freedom makes me happiest, so I could never go back to a normal job.

What about working online but have healthy hobbies where you meet people in real life?

This is a yes and no for me.... After doing it for years I did reach a point that I needed a
break and to get out and see more people. Then i was reminded why I avoid people, lol...

Working online can be confining or isolating at times. To counter it, get out more often even just to jog, bike, take out the dog for a run or simply go window shopping. It can take the feeling of being out of touch with humanity away. Reconnect with people, recharge and bring in the positive vibes. Nothing beats going out of town on a vacation but if you can't do that, then have a staycation. Find somewhere nice within your place and unwind.

I have depression sometimes. The problem is i don't have any friends now. They are just scared meeting with me because I look and act like Rain Man. I'm also very nervous in restaurants, public transport etc. So Im not "normal". Which has pros, and also cons.. I tried, and will try it . I probably need to go to the university. Have you ever seen guy going to school not because learning but because of meet some people and try to find friends? Even if he will then make probably less money because of that? Uh, it's me. I have good online work, which give me more than average salary here in Czechia. But I'm all time home and there's nowhere I can go. Yeah I'm sometimes f*cked.

Definitely make sure you get out once in a while. Nothing wrong with being a money making hermit but you still need your human interaction. Hope you feel better man.

I live in Uni accomodation so I get a lot of interaction - but truthfully I feel emotionally absent most of the time. I go to the gym 3-5x a week depending on workload, I'm just trying to escape the financial trap for better days in the future.

Yes, I would agree to some extent. Working from home can be a bit depressing at times, but that's why offline hobbies are important. I am an ambivert, so sometimes I can go with speaking to anyone for a week, and there are some days when I yearn for human contact. So to stay balanced I take classes at the gym, or in an educational setting.

But being depressed working from home, beats being depressed driving in heavy traffic to work daily.

I've mentioned before that I usually travel and meet with my clients (well, not in the last year due to business issues). I don't travel further than 300 miles, but it's a nice way to learn more about a client's business and how I can help them.

I'm also about as introverted as they get, but in my opinion, it's a necessity, albeit a draining yet rewarding one.
