If you think that what they show they do is actually the opposite of what they really do, then yes, doing the opposite of what they show make sense...

August 1st there should be some type of decision made between segwit, the New York Agreement, or Bitcoin Unlimited, it may be wise to wait until then to see how things pan out and invest from there. That being said, bitcoin has a lot more potential to rise from here. A 40 billion dollar market cap for a currency is nothing.

I got my initial BTC from steemit platform, so i didn't pay a dime either. Did invest time tho. Im constantly reevaluating if trading is for me. I'm excellent at math, i see patterns, i currently have steady profits, but it means nothing if it all crashes. You can play 30 days perfectly, and higher force just crash every asset in portfolio. invest not only in BTC but invest in Eth, golem, lite, burst.
Make chunks and invest on 4-6 public coins so that you are on the safe side. Invest in the coins ONLY YOU BELIVE IN.
DO NOT MINE any coins until and unless you actually have more than $2000 to buy the rigs and ASICs, there is no point as the break even would be little hard if you invest less 1500 or so. Well, not hard but you won't be happy with the time and energy it will consume.

Regret not buying bitcoins when they first came on the market. At the time I didn't really know what to think when I had read an article about the rumored crypto currency, other than hoping these underground BTC guys can overthrow the establishment. Have never invested and probably won't unless they drop sub-$250 which might never happen.
