Is 301 domain redirect still worth to do, If I found a similar/very-close niche related domain? Whats the best method for this?

Dont want to waste this pure gold on some PBN.

The domain was expired, my money domain is in good shape too. Whats next...
- Rebuild some content on the backlinked pages, than do the redirect?
- Or redirect the domain right away, then create the backlinked pages on my money site?
- Or redirect everything to the homepage?

Any other thoughts on domain redirection nowdays is highly appreciated

No, 301 is not worth it. And if the domain you have isn't a strong RD200 auction domain that's absolutely super mega ultra related to your site, then do not bother. Redirects do not work like they used to, not even close. You are always better off with PBNs.

yes redirect it not recommendet maybe one or two redirects maximum.. Like say @Nargil just create PBN for better result

Just a follow-up, with some questions.

I recreated the site, and created the backlinked pages.
The site is started to get good serp results for the keywords I rank for, so I decided to redirect.

The 301 has been made a week ago. Now it seems like google didnt catch up on the thing quite smoothly.
I have made the 301 via .htaccess, and used the change of address tool too, created the new sitemap and crawed everything too.

Now the rank trackers still showing positive movements for the redirected domain after a week. (???)
And google shows mixed signals in serps, Like: the Header is from the new domain, and the cached content, with the serp url is the old one.

Wtf is this?
