Domain age is a very powerful it not one of the most powerful factors affecting the ranking of your site.

Domain age is the most powerful factor in "TrustRank" - an algorithm not openly admitted by Google.

I've ranked for great keywords against people that use BlackHat SEO by taking into account factors such as Domain Age and TrustRank linking.

Key rule is - older is always better. I had a domain from 1998 and I did a crappy blast from xrumer (on overused forums). Now everyone from that keyword is pissed off that I'm ranking with such horrible backlinks.
edit:also if you're going to do this remember to spin the anchor text.

I currently have 2 aged domains with both over 1-2k backlinks the 1st one from 2001 has 2.5k backlinks and Got penalized or sandboxed somehow. Thought it wasn't really possible for aged domains The other from 2000 has about 2k backlinks but isn't really doing much at all.

tell me more about how you you linked the sites. did you use the same anchor text or only a few anchor text? Were all the links duplicate content? Those are good domain ages but you may be linking wrong.

The best way to link would be linking to links inside your website that are "deep links"
For example, this page on BHW is a "deep link" direct homepage "blasting" in conjunction with nonvarying anchor text is a bad idea even for aged domains.

Yes on the one that is Penalized or sandboxed whatever. I did do a lot of deep linking on that one and did mix in the anchor text etc. etc. Can't figure out for the of my why it's penalized oh, well it was an experiment i was doing and didn't really rely on it doing much.

2nd one I haven't done much to it. Just a lot links from other sites pointing back to it with all the same anchor text I haven't really mixed it up with this one yet.

Yeah for sure I'll PM it to you. Well it's not that I don't care about it. It's just I've put a ton of work into this site. and it just keeps falling flat on it's face lol. So i'm like screw it. But for sure i'll pm you the domain.

i have a new project and domain age is 6 to 7 month ago and i am using total Grey hat SEO.. have a lot of keywords.. do you think that making 500 blog commenting (do-follow) will help me in three months (tough competition)

6-7 months isn't something to give you break-leak advantages over your competition. 500 spinned blog comments with deep linking should give you results over time, but don't expect them in the first month and then just give up.

yes it does. it's not like you can magically make domain age not count, but you can try to do some really good SEO so you can compensate for having a short domain span.

1. You won't get the "aged domain" benefits if you choose to redirect the domain to another domain.

Of course the older the domain, the more likely you are to avoid the sandbox. If a more AGED domain (or domain with more trust rank, example digg.com) links back to your site then yes it is more likely that you will avoid the sandbox. The rule of thumb for avoiding the sandbox in the first place is don't do a 1mil xrumer blast on your new domains.
