Doing SEO for tumblr?

Hi Guys,

I have a tumblr with 7500+ followers and I just bought a domain for it. The tumblr name has 3 keywords, which I rank 1st on google and bing too.
Is there any way that I can do SEO for a tumblr page? So I can get better results for other keywords too.

Make sure you're putting your URL to your money site (or tumblr if that is your money site) as the source for all your posts and as the clickthrough link for photos. I accidentally got a PR3 site from just doing this.

If you don't already though, I would recommend having a separate site that you're funneling your tumblr traffic to because sooner or later, tumblr will probably take down your blog and you don't want to be left with nothing.

Im ranking in the top 5 of google via tumblr with some decent keywords (adult stuff). Im just adding longtails that have a few thousand monthly searches to each post

Can you pls explain how you doing that?
Can i make a tumblr for my adult affiliate link and will it convert ?

Tumblr was demoted by Google around october last year. You know, Google don't want no competition from Y!. These days it's easier to rank a Google property(YT video, plus, etc).

Vouch for this,I had a tumblr ranking for quite a high competitive keywords and lost all ranking suddenly,even after doing seo,adding content everyday,blog never rank again

You would do SEO for your tumblr site in the same way you would for any other site. First, make sure your onsite seo is on point. then backlinks.

like a guy said previously, Google did demote tumblr a little, but it was more Google upped their stuff. I would say tumblr would be good for ranking for images.. I used to get a lot of traffic through image searches.

Tumblrs still rank very well in Google as long as you have exact keyword in subdomain and you set most of your clickthru links back to your own tumblr. Of course Tumblr might ban you for keyword marketing once your property moves too high too quickly.
