4RSS - Very basic, doesn't have many of the features that the others have...but has potential once the owners implement some things. Support is terrible...had no idea how to set up cron and response was basically go figure it out yourself (even though we supply it also). So big no no for me.
Article Generator - Had another crack at this and turns out to be pretty nice. Can view items and feeds before publishing (helping out figure if it's a full article RSS feed). Can pull articles by keywords..so if you have a general RSS feed...can specify some targeted keywords so you don't download everything. Bad point is can't limit the number of Articles....but won't be too many once you get going.
So far I'm happy with this, will be playing around with it until I can try out the latest RSS2Content. PM me your email if you want Article Generator.....but I won't be providing support as I'm a noob aswell.
Only thing I need to get down, is finding full articles for my tech autoblog

Hey mate. I suggest you install JoomSEO plugin then enable it and your Website offset is resolved.

Thanks everyone for all the great info, you've put me up on a few great tools. I've been using Joomla for about 2 years. And just installed Rss2Content 3 days ago and plan to start an autoblog section.
I found With Rss2Content theres a nice sized gap between the title and article content even if no souce logo is selected in the back-end. I've been tring to find a way to tweek this in Rss2Content, or maybe in Joomla (without editing each article individually). No luck yet though.
I need to alter whatever is actually creating the article and prevent it from adding those spaces before the article text. Not sure how to go about this.
Oh and that <div offset fix was a life saver so thanks again.
Sorry to hear this news. Maybe it is the matter of php itself.

It is a pain for people who use normal shared hosting. Due to this problem, I give up my high-load wordpress autoblog and start to do micro niche sites with wordpress

I like supporting developers... & if i've payed for the script i can bitch about issues via the developers forum or email. In addition when there is a security issue you don't want to be waiting for weeks for a new null to come out for a security update. After your had your server r00ted a few times because of exploits you really begin to understand that nulls can actually cost you alot of money

I agree totally... Not to disrupt what you guys are doing 1 bit... but I have worked with both and WP is way less headaches... IMHO
I 'think' the one thing that stands out to me is G made or owns wp so they show some favoritism to wp sites... again a loose theory of mine...

I agree that WP is less of a headache...but you can build EPIC autoblog/auto content sites with joomla. Personally i aim to build sites that get repeat traffic, repeat traffic is where the money is

Agreed (again) that wp is alot easier. WP is like a windows OS, by that I mean it's easier to use and has way more apps for it, but Joomla (being like Linux) has way more potential and seems to have a better community (in my opinion) for sorting out kinks.
OK, my question is this: Where can I find full articles via RSS feeds?
Had a look on other threads, they give vague ideas but nothing really specific. If you suggest something like Yahoo pipes please supply a how to....coz that thing just baffles me .

hey friend. Got a simple suggestion. altho this may take you time to collect RSS feeds but it's quite useful especially if your looking for articles related to your keyword target. Since most sites that has full articles are in blogspot, here's my way of searching feeds.
1. Go to google search.
2. search with this line ==>
and press enter
3. this will display pages relative to your keywords.
4. simply right-click and open each web page in new tabs (perfect for FF browser)
5. click their RSS-feed ICON along the address bar, and you'll get the link
6. i guess 10 to 20 RSS feeds would be enough.
And if others have better ideas than i do, just keep on posting.

If you want to master auto generated/autoblog sites yahoo pipes is the key....there are shit loads of yahoo pipe tuts showing you how to do stuff....but what ever you want to build has already been built...the thing with yahoo pipes is you can "clone" other peoples pipes & use it for your site or use it as a building block for a epic pipe. just search thru other people pipes...it will give you a shit load of ideas to build a killer mashup.
Just remember... google is a billion dollar business built on automated scrapping of other peoples work

That was excellent advice - Using Yahoo pipes for all my feeds. I first watch "Yahoo pipes Tutorials" on youtube and then made my own. Simple as pie.
Now if only I can get round setting up cron on the dreaded Godaddy (no switching hosting is not an option), I would be set.

I don't want to offend design32 for off topic. But can't help to answer your question.
"Anyone know PHP here?" that means you do cron job with PHP command? if so, I recommend you try wget or curl.
