Hello BHW members. It's been several months that I've been reading forum threads here and tried some of them that seems suited for me to do wherein I am able to implement but without luck with monetizing

Most autoblogs as far as I've been reading threads are done using Wordpress. Now, as a Joomla User (not developer) I've been finding ways to implement some AutoBlogging concepts from WordPress into Joomla. Now I've started one and hope any of you could suggest a better one.

joomla 1.5.13 thru fantastico

joomla templates thru Artisteer (got it here!)

components for feed fetching:
- RSS2Content
- YOS Feed2Articles

components for SEO and SEF
- sh404SEF
- SEF Service Map and Extension

component for posting COMMENT
- JomComment

component for backup
- JoomlaPack
AD
- Google Adsense module by Joomlaspan

These components really does autoblogging in joomla like feed fetching intro and full articles, images, categorizing, frontpage publishing, cron, etc. It's just a matter of configuring it the right way. Although i'm not sure that it does article rewrites.

My question is, does any of you here knows a feed fetching component that does article-rewrite? (posting some replies would be greatly acknowledged...) Suggestion for better components for a working autoblogging similar to WP-O-Matic as well.

I'm still on the process of testing this concept for joomla. and hopefully if i'll have good results, i'll be sharing my testimonies as well.

You may want to try it yourself also.
:D

Yes, joomla is also a good alternative, have been planning to try it out myself. Maybe you can also add meta generator as a plugin. It automatically adds all the metas for each article.. Furtermore try multiads for ads in conent. Will let u know more about about plugins when i get there. Do u mind sharing jomcomment with me? If so please pm me for email address. Thanks

thanks ghettogong! I'll do searching on meta tags generator plugin and i'll add up on my extension list the one that works best.

Of course multiAds is taken into consideration. But this time, i'l just start with adsense so it's not too confusing.

if jomcomment is not shared, here's the link:

i'll keep in touch... :D As i've said as soon as i figure out the best working components, modules and plugins for a Joomla to do AutoBlogging, i'll post it here or create a new thread for it. Good tainted to all!

I am very interested in this thread. You know, wp will goes slowly when site grows big. I will give a try to joomla and learn some basic knowledge of its api.

I think it could be implemented in the same way as wordpress if know what the hook for content. well, I mean we could move wordpress rewriter or others synonyms plugin into joomla without a pain.

i'm glad members could come and visit this thread little by little.

way to go @letusgo... hope to get updates from you too about implementing wp rewriters to joomla.

and to @Celcius, just keep subscribed, then wait and see. later follow. :D

This day, I've finished building my template and my joomla backbones (menus, sections, categories, extensions, ads placements, etc.) online and none yet of autoblogging. i'll start with that on monday. I'm just taking it slowly but surely.

Just keep sending post. altho i'll be away for 2 days, i'll give updates when i get back.

Good tainted! :D

Thanks, will stay in touch, got so much to do - let us know all your result - make a diary ;-)

I am Joomla developer and know Joomla very well because it's my one of my main income source. I don't think there are joomla extensions to do article rewrites. The only possible solution is build the extension from scratch or modify the existing ones. Hope this helps.

man, nothing is impossible.
Look at this post
HTML:

and this para
We're going to hook our plugin onto Joomla's onPrepareContent event. This happens before Joomla displays the content to the user. Any changes we make to the text will not be saved in the database.
it is possible and very easy to fulfil joomla rewriter, isn't it?

Man, please read my post again, i didn't say that this is impossible.
I said it needs to be built from scratch and it's very possible if you master joomla framework and MVC model.

Hey letusgo! Just got back from weekend vacation. When i came back online, first thing i did is check on this thread. i saw your link about rewriter. i downloaded it and installed it to my joomla autoblogging test site with success and no problem.

Thanks. it really worked on rewriting certain verbs, subjects and every word that needs to be rewritten.

That's cool. autoblogging can really be implemented in Joomla!

@letusgo... by d way, i've just noticed that the norewriter.php was not uploaded. is it because it's not inserted in the XML file?

Nice to see you guys trying other ways and sharing with all. But allow me to express my opinion about this, I've been making auto updated websites with joomla few years ago (as well as WP), you can do every thing with joomla, it's bigger and a powerful CMS than wordpress, there are tons of free and payed modules, extensions and plugins, but it's a bit harder to work with joomla than WP, specially if you're new, a proper SEO to joomla website is not as easy as It sounds, comparing it with WP, you get a powerful SEO ready blog/website from the box, and with few plugins you're almost done with on-page seo. So it will takes you much more time to make a good autoblog/autowebsite with joomla than wordpress, and even that you may get the same result or less in the end. I don't think it worth if you're making a basic niche blog .

I don't mean this is not gona work, you'll end up with a good looking blog/website with joomla but for less time and work, you can easily have a good auto blog with Wordpress, so you better spend time getting good keywords and promoting your blogs .

thank you for sharing your opinion mgs. I appreciate it. I agree with you that it will really take a lot of time in preparing a joomla autoblog. But being able to come up with the working components, modules and plugins to get this joomla autoblog working, would lead us perhaps to creating a joomlaautoblog quickstart that is ready to install and ready to be shared with other Joomla users. Anyways, we're still in the test stage... :D

And Perhaps with the contribution of members here posting insights and so will really lead to a good result. So just keep posting. :D

maybe an idea: make a joomla site and a wordpress site with both same product and analyse the outcome after 2 weeks and ofcourse tell us ;-)

Hi guys!!!
Nice to see some Joomla action around. Yes as 'http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/1257407-post14.html' mentioned.... it is not as easy as WordPress. Let's face the facts.......

System: WordPress was specially developed for Blogging. Whereas Joomla is altogether a different system. Blogging is just one of its features.

Content Management: Coming to the downside of Joomla for Blogging comparatively to WordPress..... I think the K2 CCK Component from JoomlaWorks fixes this issue completely.

SEO: While WordPress has many built-in features, I don't think Joomla is anyway lacking these capabilities. Also the add-ons for this are in abundance.

Ease of use: Both are more or less same.
Performance: Yes as mentioned by ‘http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/1249408-post5.html', WordPress does go slow when you blog grows big. Whereas Joomla is a clear winner in this.

Security: Though both have their own systems....... I may not be correct but I feel Joomla is having more options in this.
Coming down to the main topic of this thread..... A Content Rewriter for Joomla..... Yes it is possible to convert many WordPress plug-ins for Joomla.

I fact I am working on a Rewriter as well as a Content Uniquefirer Plug-in for Joomla. I am using some WordPress Plug-ins for the same. Will be sharing the files here soon.

I feel that we should give Joomla a try. It has more flexibility than WordPress.

Lastly YES with focus on the issue and high energy levels like ‘http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/1246352-post1.html' and ‘http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/1249408-post5.html'I am sure this project is not very far from completion.

Keep posting suggestions as these will be our seed for development.

Cheers!!! :)

Sorry for omiting this thread for some days.
The norewriter.php stores the words you don't want to remove(per word per line) so it doesn't matter without xml.
You have to download the new one
HTML:
http://www.rapidspread.com/file.jsp?id=ht6cirp41e
since I made something wrong in previous one.

thanks for the brief comparative notes about joomla and wordpress, vikramrao. Something tells me that i'll be continuing joomla autoblogging for that :D

and thanks again letusgo for the updated rewriter plugin. i've been busy preparing a site with simple instructions about how to do joomla autoblog, and with a download page of the needed components, modules and plugins built for guys who wanted to try joomla autoblog stuffs. and by d way, i've also uploaded your rewriter plugin, letusgo. Someday when it's half done, i'll be posting the joomla autoblog instructional site as well as the sample autoblog site here for critic.

i'm almost done with my simple instructional site. what i'l be doing next is the demo of the joomla autoblog site with some niche related blogs inside categories. Which means, i'll be doing a technology related autoblogs inside technology category; a travel related autoblogs inside travel category, and so on... all in one demo site. Hope it works :D

you guys just keep posting... i'll be posting also from time to time.

Good taited! :D

This looked really promising so I went to Joomla to check some extensions and found some that I think would be useful.

AutoTweet NG - posts the title/url of new articles/forum posts automatically as status message
Tweetme - a nice "TweetThis" button to your Joomla articles
Ping.FM Plugin - allows you to send a customized status message to all your social network pages like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc. using Ping.FM (Don't need AutoTweet NG if you use this)

To get content (commercial plugins):
Article-Generator
Rss2Content
Feed2Post
JC - JoomRSS
Unique Article Wizard - get articles from UniqueArticleWizard.com
