i will follow this post very close, think to start 3 new sites.
Same niche one wp one joomla and one plig all 3 will be auto and they take rss from same sites.
When i will have enoght time and documentation for all i will create a topic with the experiment.

Hello guys!

I am a Joomlahead. Most all my sites are Joomla powered. I am working on developing my latest site, http://superhottopics.com - It is going to be an autoblog that focuses on the hottest news trends, from places such as http://www.google.com/trends/hottrends?sa=X.

I've played around with a number of the components mentioned in this thread that automatically generate articles from RSS feeds. I have been doing a bunch of research on this subject lately. I have narrowed it down to these two components: http://yopensource.com/en/component/content/article/59-yos-news-crawler-automatic-articles-extension-for-joomla and http://www.suchmaschinen-optimierung-seo.org/index.php/SEO-Nachrichten/article-generator.html.

The YOS New Crawler looks very cool. It can not only create articles from RSS feeds, but it can scrape a page that does not have an RSS feed and make articles that way.

Have any of you guys used either of these components? I've contacted the owner of both these components, but have yet to hear back from wither one.

This is a cool thread. I'll be sure to let you guys know how my site goes.

:typing:

Nice to hear the joomla autoblogging thing.

Anyone knows if there are joomla optimized adsense templates around here. They do have for wordpress....

Joomla is hard for me to setup a website! However it is so good.

I have a problem with the twitter function included in RSS2content.
The url showed in the twitter tweets doesnt include the domain name
i.e if my domain name is abc.com
the tweet url is sth like /index.php
instead of abc.com/index.php
Does any1 have the same problem?
@ethan.ky === Keen observation my friend. It's reall included in the RSS2Content function to SHORTEN VERY LONG TAILED URLs like http://yoursite.com/m-first-blog-about-joomla-autoblog.html into something like http://sn1purl.com/ybh7wae just to fit into the 140 characters allowed by twitter.

If you need quick tutorial on joomla, i could do a one on one session with you. just PM me your email add.

Anyone knows if there are joomla optimized adsense templates around here. They do have for wordpress....
@ghettogong === hey friend, if you're looking for a template optimized for adsense, I suggest you create one for yourself using Artisteer. All you have to do is adjust the sizes of columns, sheet, etc. to satisfy your needed template that fits your adsense size. The other good thing is that you can say, "Hey men I designed it!" Or you can install an adsense module that you can place to any module position you like. You can download it in this site. Choose between regular and clicksafe.

Moreover, you may try experimenting placing your adsense anywhere in your contents (top, bottom, left, right, center) by reading this short ebook. link below:

And to all! Keep posting your experiences with joomla autoblogging. In this way, every exchange of ideas will lead to fruitful products.

Good tainted! :D

i wanna try drupal auto blogging soon
@Slazor === Hey men, I don?t mean to offend you in anyway. But although we?re doing autoblogging test here using joomla, perhaps somehow some of your ideas implemented in drupal could connect or might be applicable here. Besides, Wordpress rewriter plugin converted to Joomla plugin that works was also applied here. Thanks for joining.
I have found the solution to the DIV offset problem.
Just download JoomSEO:
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensi...-metadata/1830
I dont know why exactly but at least it works on mine :P
It was giving me headaches! the div problem!
@ethan.ky === thanks for the share ethan.ky I?l be trying that tonight. I hope this doesn?t conflict with my sh404SEF component. But it?s worth a try.
Is it possible to share article generator once you have it? because I have looked everywhere i.e boygj but still couldn't find it lol
With regards to this one, I haven?t found any A-G either. Let?s hope for the best. If sometimes, we couldn?t go to the link of these components, let the components go to us.

@ WebmasterWorkforce === That?s the force WebmasterWorkforce. We?re glad you had been enlightened even in a little way by this thread. I hope you?ll meet success soon.
Found a new plugin just added to joomla extensions. Its 4RSS, another rss importer, but this one is free!

Code:

@ justicero === thanks for the share. Many of us here will be happy with this share. And far better on, it?s non-commercial. Thanks. I downloaded it. I?l give it a test on Thursday. I?m out for a few days vacation. I?m just using a friend?s PC and net.

Good tainted! :D

@ ethan.ky Hey Mate. I tested your tip about the DIV problem with RSS2Content, it worked for me too. But don't know the reason why it worked. Well, at least it worked and i'll be using RSS2Content for my autoblogging. I'm almost nearing my final tweaks of this test before building a quickstart.

Good tainted!

hey deign23,

I mean it's not the shorten url problem, it's the shortened url problem.
like when i click the shortened url, it only showed index.php
instead of mydomain/index.php
you get what I mean? lol

Ok: here is my site:
http://www.asian-beauti.com/
And my twitter page:
http://twitter.com/asianbeauticom
Click on the shorten url on my twitter, you will get what I mean lol

Oh now i understand what you mean. i guess there is an issue with your sh404SEF component or JoomSEO plugin. if your using sh404SEF component, try doing this:

i have noticed that you still have the "index.php" in your URLs. to get rid of this "index.php" do this:

1. login to your back-end.
2. go to component > sh404SEF
3. on the right portion of the interface, click the LINK shaded in Blue that says "Click here to switch to extended display (with all available parameters)" to open the advance mode tabs.
4. Click sh404SEF Configuration icon.
5. In the Main Tab select YES to enable it. select YES to all lowercase.
6. In the Advance Tab, Advance Component Configuration Column, Rewriting Mode Row, select with .HTACCESS (MOD_REWRITE). This hides your index.php in your URLs.
7. Save it. and Click Proceed to purge your URLs and creates a new fresh URLs.
8. NOW TO THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. FTP your site or use File Manager in your cpanel, and rename your HTACCESS.TXT to .HTACCESS (with the dot "." before htaccess) and you're done.
9. Now to check it. Just delete some of your latest articles. Then completely delete it also at the Article Trash. Then try doing "manual loading of RSS" at RSS2Content and check your twitter links again if they are still index.php in their links. Let's hope this will work you out of this problem.

Then post your experience here.

Good luck and good tainted! :D

hey

Thanks for the help. I followed your step on sh404sef however I have a component - Jmovies, sh404sef doesnt seem to work for it.

I still couldn't get the twitter url fixed, but I found a way round it. Using rss to feed my twitter. That works just fine. But if I found out what went wrong. I will post on here.

@ ethan.ky if you have the jmovies component not working properly, you have to go to your sh404SEF component configuration and go to the COMPONENT tab, and skip it from using SEF URL.

I use to have my download page not working right. and this is what i did to make it work normally. I hope it will work for you too.

Good tainted! :D

I couldn't figure out Joomla for the life of me. Wordpress is much easier, or at least from what I have seen. Joomla can have an actual website layout tho. So that is nice.

hey deign23,

I did that, and it didn't work. =[

I guess I won't be focusing on SEF just yet. Since I have more component to add to the site. btw, what do you think of my site. Please give me some feedbacks :)

Thanks![/QUOT

Sorry to hear that. I can't think of other magic from my sleeves to fix that. Anyway, with regards to your autoblog:
=> nice good looking site. fresh to the eyes. (thanks to GK_musictube template)
=> cute twitter bird module. what module is that?
=> nice ad placement... color matching eehy?!
=> who's image are you using as your favicon? mysterious huh?!?

well, i guess i've got nothing more to say. I think, you need to add a Contact Us, Disclaimer, and About Us Menu. That's what your lacking as far as I could think now.

Awesome work guys, really!!! I sent you an e-mail deign23, if you didn't receive it let me know.

Been working on a autoblog and then found this thread.....perfect. :D

My http://superhottopics.com has been acting weird lately. Every now and then I'll go there and it will be just a blank white page, with just the date in the upper left corner of the screen. In debug mode I saw that the rewriter plugin mentioned in this thread was having errors so I disabled it, however the problem persists. Does anyone here know what is going on? I tried disabling some other of my new components and plugins, but I haven't figured it out just yet.

I am ready to scrap this and just use WordPress, even though I really had my heart set on using Joomla for this project.

Gonna try out 4RSS....Seems to be a new Component that came out 4RSS....no reviews there yet. Tried using Article Generator.....looks nice but support is terrible...especially for a newb like me.

Fingers crossed this works :)

Thanks everyone for all the great info, you've put me up on a few great tools. I've been using Joomla for about 2 years. And just installed Rss2Content 3 days ago and plan to start an autoblog section.

I found With Rss2Content theres a nice sized gap between the title and article content even if no souce logo is selected in the back-end. I've been tring to find a way to tweek this in Rss2Content, or maybe in Joomla (without editing each article individually). No luck yet though.

I need to alter whatever is actually creating the article and prevent it from adding those spaces before the article text. Not sure how to go about this.

Oh and that <div offset fix was a life saver so thanks again. :)

Nice one Fineas....steer clear of 4RSS....very basic and support is terrible. Gonna have another crack at Article Generator (as I've bought it). Fingers Crossed :D

Thanks, I was just about to try 4RSS. It doesn't really seem like a good substitute for Rss2Content anyway.

And just out of curious, how do you guys find or scrape full RSS?

To my knowledge there are a number of sites that offer full articles in their rss feeds. You can find a list or make your own. From there certain tools are used to change choice key words to something that suits your SEO needs. Add advertising, or other ways to monetize and so on.

Many of the tools used to do this are mentioned in this thread.
